Just been down the barossa footy league to watch Willaston play Angaston and was interested to hear that Willaston have a young kid by the name of Jeremie John(ock playing for them he kicked 3 goals and was very good when he went into the middle in the last quarter, and he has a great leapon him a lot taller than Graham and a bigger build i think he is 18 or 19. Looks the goods.

Stiffy comes from the West Coast, so he's unlikely to be a brother - or is he??

I'd gladly have another John **** if he was as good as Graham. :)

Is his brother. Went thru the Magpies juniors. Is a forward. Played 14 reserves games and kicked 11 goals. Isnt anywhere near as skilled as his brother.

Is also a Barry Johnc*ck who played with the Under 19s for us in 2000. Kicked 42 goals but hasnt been seen since.

nah he aint graham's brother he's his cousin and he prolly won't b as good as graham but he will prolly b good enough to play AFL i rekon.

If he anywhere as good as Stiffy, I am sure James Fantasia and Co. are keeping a very close eye on him.

Is Graham Johnco ck proving to be a steal of the 2000 draft after being taken at pick 67??????

damn straight he is and the better thing is that we stole him right from under Port's nose.

You come to this conclusion after one game in the Barossa League?? haha. Funny to say the least!!!

The guy struggled to get games in Port Magpies reserves a few years back...hardly a tough talented squad to break into. Playing in the Barossa league is hardly the right place to show your stuff to the AFL recruiting staff. I strongly doubt an AFL scout will be out there looking at a player in a country league after he failed to make the grade in the SANFL reserves. His window of AFL oppurtunity has passed.

If James Fantasia and co. are looking at this kid (even tho they would have already seen him play numerous times 3 seasons ago when he was in the SANFL system) then they are wasting their time. They might as well draft me.

If Jeremy John**** makes the AFL...i will gladly swim around Australia.

You really are an imbecile. Too arrogant? Why becuase they play well against you?

fool.

ps. for the other crow supporters with an inkling towards logic. No matter how good Jophn(ock is, I think I'd prefer two really good players to one really good player from the draft.

How are you claiming both players?

We only gave up Rehn to get Bode did we not.

Unless you are saying that you knew Angwin would be a psycological wreck. Hindsight is agreat thing

We picked up S Burgoyne with the draft pick you gave us for Bode.

Not wise SLH to reply to 1 stupid statement with another. ;) What exactly are you suggesting - that we have only ever got 1 good player? In 2000 we gained John(ock, Bode, Doughty, Crowell & the untried Smith (of the players still on our full list). In comparison, Port gained S Burgoyne, K Cornes, Wakelin and Cassisi (of the players still on the list). Reckon there is not much in it!

I only rate John(ock. My statement stands.

So what's Kane Cornes got to do with it then?

My response was in reaction to Graham John**** being "stolen from under Port's nose," and I was simply pointing out that either Junior Burger and Kane Cornes could've been picked by the Crows, so why would we give a rat's? We've made a net gain.

Anyway, I concede the point about Angwin being a headcase, but since Burgoyne and Cornes were both tipped to go higher than they did, and they are local talent, I believe it was blatant recruiting mistake not taking one of them. Given that you guys are hot on taking a local ruckman or one of the young SA gun midfielders in the next draft, going by another thread on this board, I don't see why you didn't comply with that local policy in said draft. That is all.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If you ask any recruiting officer who was the best young ruckman in 2000 draft and how hign he would go, every one of them would say Laurence Angwin top 5 and definetly top 10.

I can understand the logic of picking Angwin. We have just traded away Shaun Rhen and were in the market for young ruckman who would be one of the premier ruckman of the future. One big problem, not enough attention was paid to his character.

I think most of you would agree that good quality ruckman and KPP are a rare find these days and your midfield / utility types are more common. If you come down to taking a ruckamn or a midfielder, the chances are you'll go for a ruckman. Thats exactly what Port did with Brooks in 2001. You went for a ruckman when in all reality you didn't really need one. One year later you get a dream deal that getts you a gun midfielder in the following draft. Ruckman are a rare commodidty and need to be picked whenever a quality one is available.;)

In hindsight I think you are right

but at the time, Angwin was getting rave reviews as he was a quick atheletic tall person would be a key position player

It was our first ever Top Ten pick

We had to go with the "best" player.

In the end we got nothing but we could have had the world.

Be bold and good things will happen to you.

That's a good motto.

There has also been a school of thought from Victorian clubs (admittedly with hindsight) that he wasn't the most mentally stable/mature player they had ever come across. Not sure how true this is.

I agree - you have to go for the best player available. Unless you have a pressing and immediate need for a particular type of player. However to my line of thinking your better off picking up in the draft the best player you can, and try and plug holes via trades.

I could not agree with you more. When it your turn to pick, especially in first 2 rounds, you go for the best available. Then if there is holes to plug you use trades to fill them.

Great thinking.;) :D

Bode For S.Burgoyne

And what are you saying with the taking Burgoyne thing for Bode, Bode is kicking arse at the Crows, is still young and I cant see Shaun (The ****er Who Should Have Got At Leats 2 Weeks) Burgoyne being better at all not now not ever.
That was pointless saying you got Burgoyne instead, Bode WAS PLAYING IN YOUR TEAM and you let him go :p

Oh dear. Underestimate Shaun Burgoyne at your peril. He is, in fact, the best thing since bread began to be sliced by the bakeries.

So Jason, i assume that Johnc*ck is also a ****er that should have got at least two weeks for his copy bump on Molloy on the weekend?

That's a fair comment Macca. I made exactly that comment at the game - that it was a dead set copy of the Shaun Burgoyne hip and shoulder.

The only thing I am confused about - and that applies to both incidents - I thought that they had outlawed the hit down the front a couple of seasons ago, calling it a charge. Can any one enlighten me on this one??
