Who’s claiming he’s matched Franklin’s dominance? I’m looking around for anyone that has.

Franklin is in the conversation with the very very best of all time. Being not as good as him doesn’t make someone ‘underwhelming’ 😂😂😂

‘Ooh I can’t bowl as well as Malcolm Marshall. I must be shit at pace bowling.’ - Courtney Walsh after retiring with 500 test wickets at 24

OK, I apologise for assuming a decent level of reading comprehension. I'll break it down:

- Franklin was a far more impressive player, but even then, wasn't deemed unequivocally better than the generational mids of his era.

- Cameron, being the best forward of a less impressive tall forward era, while the league still has mids who'll be regarded as greats, many of whom are similar in physical stature, e.g. Bont.

- ????

- Jezza is the best player of his generation. 🥴

19 of his 83 goals in the H&A season this year cam against top 8 teams surprisingly

Hopefully the Cats dont get many top 8 teams twice next year or that goal tally will drop off drastically

He was averaging 5 shots a game overall - 4 against top 8 sides.
He kicked 18.23 in those games interestingly enough. Accuracy of 44 per cent.
His overall accuracy was 67 per cent.

Had he kicked at that accuracy against top 8 sides he’d have kicked 28.13 from 11 games, one of them mostly with a broken arm.
Of course a measure of playing well is producing under pressure and at times this year he didn’t - he missed two really important shots against the Lions in the GF so he loses points there anyway and one in particular was a bread and butter shot for him. But yes it’s not like he disappeared and couldn’t get his hands on the ball and get a shot against the good sides either

Brisbane is the one side that seems to negate his ability to get his hands on the ball more often: he either gets shots on goal (round 16, QF) or he does very little at all. Other games he might not score a lot but he will push up the ground and have 15-16 touches and have a good impact regardless.
Against Brisbane they know how to limit him. He had 8, 8, 13 and 8 in the four matches this year.

Franklin was deemed better than every player of his ever mid or otherwise aside from Gary Ablett Jr.
