Most likely will be Geelong, but nothing about the Geelong has been confirmed yet.

AFL just need to put a cap on the number of free agents a club is allowed over a period of years - as an example

- only one Tier 1 FA (Rd 1 comp) every 4 years
- only one Tier 2 FA (end of Rd 1 comp) every 2 years
- only one Tier 3 FA (Rd 2 comp) every year
Any amount of Tier 3 & 4 FAs (end of Rd 2 & Rd 3) every year

If a trade is worked out instead then the above does not apply

So if Geelong nab Cameron as a FA and he is classed as Tier 1 FA (so no trade) then they have to wait another 4 years to get another Tier 1 FA

The problem is that is still very generous. Tier 1 is open ended. If Polec was a FA, he would have probably got band 1. Noone reasonably thinks he's the same quality as Lynch, Cameron, Dangerfield, etc. If you got 2 absolute top tier players in 5 years, that is too much. It also wouldn't be workable as the club wouldn't know if they could do the deal until the tier has been worked out, which would then reveal the compo, which the AFL doesn't want. Under your system, Geelong are still probably entitled to a few more high quality FAs over the next couple of years.

Why under my system would Geelong be entilted to more Band 1 or 2 FAs?

Not sure you are making any sense
