Or we take him at 6 in the draft. Game glitch. lulz
It would be interesting if Geelong got to pick 6 and there is a draftee they wanted but didn't think they could get, would they really want to use that pick on Cameron

as well as whatever they actually offered Cameron in the first place which is likely to be the majority of the Geelong figure by itself. Williams puts them way in the clear as far as cap space and Corr the icing on the cake as far as clearing space
Yep, plus any other delistings they had planned. Would have heaps of space clear to make an offer.

Whats most likely outcome here
IMO GWS will be asking for 2 1st rounders + Player
if the suitable player not available 3 of your 1st rounders will be the price

Which is effectively Tim Kelly

I don't understand how people are still debating if GWS can afford this. What do they think the offers tabled to Cameron and Williams were this year 300k a piece and 100K for Corr?

Im more asking how does Geelong afford to offer Cameron $900k
Cameron
Hawkins
Selwood
Dangerfield
Menegola
Duncan
Gurhrie
Blicavs
Stewart
Higgins
Smith

Thats roughly $7 mil for 11 players

At least 10 pages of crap just skimmed past.
So much pontification, so much inane drivel.

Much rather wait and see what the two clubs agree on.
Plenty of time left in trade period.

Front loaded the TK money into contracts last year to clear a bit of cap space for JC, Selwood out of contract next year(will be a serious pay cut there if not retirement), Have been into Higgens for the last two years and after failing to get Devon Smith for two years I think the team got confused and accidentally signed Isaac smith this year.

Front loading is fine and having the TK money to do that (similar with Richmond Rance $$$) But there are other players that would have been signed up last year on bigger $$$ with Kelly leaving as well as this year.

People mention front loading but realistically you are still paying the same dollars and over a 3-4 year period it is maxed out. A player like Higgins and Smith dont come cheap ($550-$600k) and Cameron $950k then you have Duncan,Menegoa , Guthrie,Stewart,Parfitt,Henry improvements to factor in

Think the Cats are really going all in the next 2 years and setting up for 1 last tilt before really bottoming out. Cats could possibly have 50% o the list over 28 next year this time.

Ahhh the old ” player x with zero relevancy or similarities to player y was worth this much, so therefore player y must be the same”.

Only a big footy special sauce that line

Anyone Geelong supporter that reckons the compo was fair is full of it. Every day of the week Cameron is worth two first rounders, arguably two in the top ten but we won’t have to pay the latter sum. I couldn’t care less if we lose a player or a few speculative picks in a compromised draft for a genuine A grader like Cameron. We’ll get this done we always do.

How is that so ?

Tim Kelly was uncontracted and wanted to leave , Cameron also the same
Why is it in your opinion is it ok for Geelong to stand their ground but not GWS

GWS are more than happy to pay him the money and want to keep him as a gws player. 3 picks between #12-#20 is virtually similar to a top 5 pick and Cameron is certainly worth a top 5

You brought up the kelly deal and its value as some reference. There is zero similarities of tim kelly and jeremy cameron to be making any references. A much more realitic reference is joe danniher who went for pick 7 Compo and is a slightly younger key forward.

Also need to factor in his 2020 season form and age when determining his value.

Why is there no relevance once the bid is matched then you need to trade for an uncontracted player, The Daniher pick is a compo pick that is handed from the AFL so that actually no longer has relevance. The Kelly situation was that both the players clubs valued and wanted to keep them and have big offers for them to stay.

Jeremy cameron once GWS match is a un contracted player that you must satisfy GWS with picks or he needs to go to draft which he wont do

Totally bizarre post. If you don’t top up when you’re just made a GF, when do you top up? Obviously they’re shooting for a flag, that’s the aim of the game. Of course they’re trading off to win one.

Tiges cut you too pieces in loose ball gets and running power after a quarter and a half and the solution is to bring in 3 more veterans ?

You need to be booting some out not bringing more in
