Injury Jeremy Laidler - Knee

Spotted a tweet from one of the AFL dudes a few mins ago that said Laids has had his scans today but needs to see a specialist tonight to get a full diagnosis.

Can't be good...am hoping it's not ligament damage.

Hard to know until we hear from the club.
Really hope it doesn't mean a lengthy stint on the sidelines for Laidler. He's been such a good pick up for the club, and even his form on Sunday prior to the injury was top shelf.

Report on fox news saying laids will be right for Rd1, nothing on the club site though, will believe it when it comes officially from the club me thinks

So long has he hasn't chipped some bone, or excessively torn the ligaments, he should be right in a few weeks. Big positive that they knocked it back into place quickly, and he felt OK afterwards. R1 definitely a chance. And he's got a few pre-season games under his belt as well.

:)

Fox sports now saying we will have to wait till the morning for results of specialist report, sheesh just tell us for Christ sake

Nah, I was wondering if he'd be back this season after first seeing it. 6 weeks, while less than ideal, is a whole lot better than some serious ligament damage. Still a month till round one so shouldn't miss more than two or three games.

Great minds. ;)

Goddamit!

Davies went ok last night. Still not sold but he's improving his decision making which is his biggest negative for mine. Had a clown behind us giving him and Levi grief every time they went near it. Marcus makes a heap better AFL player than this sphincter does a supporter.

Going on from what Zee saw on the clubs twitter

From the website:
Jeremy Laidler is expected to miss up to six weeks after dislocating his left kneecap in yesterday's NAB Cup match against the Bulldogs.
"The arthroscopic examination is to flush out the knee and, while it is disappointing, the injury certainly could have been much worse. Six weeks is worst case scenario so he will be back playing no later than round 3," McKay said.

Only 6 weeks. Could have been much worse!!!

I quite enjoyed the 'who cares' relaxed type feel of the whole thing (result I mean not injuries) , balmy night, getting an early season footy fix, watching the young guys run around, bit of a chin wag..
Giving someone grief at a practise match ... find something to get uptight about sphincter!

Watching at home with people who can't speak much English losing their heads over a pre-season game. Try to explain that the results mean nothing but they can't fathom the club resting Betts and Garlett in the last quarter. Of course the guy who's been following the sport fervently for over a decade knows less than the bloke who's been in the country for 14 months, calls umps referees and Robinson Anderson.

Calling for Ratten to be sacked = face palms.

ANDDD....there's my rant for the day. Carry on. :p
