Russell for Sellar?
Sorry Alpha but no. Maybe Tippett for Russell sounds better. Tippett is considered an impressive talent and could add something to our ruck/forward division. What does everyone else think of this? I reckon it sounds great.

Yes.Would you like Knights, Dangerfield and our first too??
As much as I don't like the crows it just doesn't seem fair to trade russell to them, or anyone. Best he just moves on and pretend we never had him.
Seriously though, what's he kicked now 2 goals 12 from set shots, and some of those from right in front 30m out. Useless.
In an ideal word would I like JR to kick more goals, of course Yes....but what you and a lot of other posters forget is that there is more than one direction to run in footy. We have some blokes who kick goals and stuff. I'd prefer JR on my list than a downhill skier like Pettifer or Jericho.
No chance in hell this would happen, but I'd love us to nab Ivan Maricfrom the Crows ...
If there is ever a sure bet future gun ruckman, it is Maric IMHO ..
Jericho isn't a downhill skier, he just forgot to bring his ski's.

Russel is way better than Richard Douglas why would you want to do that trade. He is also better than Tippett and certainly way better than Sellar. Why are you guys so interested in picking up duds from the Crows? Knights has been the only player suggested so far that is acutally better than Russell. You can have JR if you offer us Richard Douglas or Chris Knights in return![]()

Not good enough. Excuses like this will only ever get us mediocrity. The question we need to ask ourselves is, do we want to be middle of the road like Collingwood? or do win want to be the best?
To say we have some players who can kick goals, some who can defend and some that can do everything in the middle is crap. Everyone should be able to do everything. When the coaches talk about competing that is exactly what they mean. Take Kreuzer for instance, this year he has played everywhere from full back to full forward, on the wing and in the ruck, same with Gibbs.
Now I understand that only a few can do this and even less play in the ruck but to say Russell is allowed to consistently miss simple shots at goal because he can "run in more than one direction" is plain and simple not good enough. How someone can hold his place in the team despite being unable to deliver the ball efficiently is a joke and will get us nowhere.
He has now been given almost a whole year but he continues to make the same simple errors whether it be handballing to a player who is under enormous pressure (if the handball hits the target), kicking over our players heads or missing yet another shot at goal. Surely there comes a time when no more improvement can happen. If this trend continues, how long do you give him?
Well since we have a couple of mediocre players in our side that everyone on here supports I guess we will always be a mediocre team like the Pies, St. Kilda, Bulldogs etc
jericho makes jordan russell look like superman

Yeah I remember that call and I was pleased to hear it. Russell has improved a lot and he continues to every week. Plus, it seems the Carlton selection panel has him in their future plans so people may as well get used to him and accept him for what he is. Fisher on the other hand...I can't believe one of the commentators on the w/end said Jordan Russell had improved in leaps and bounds this year ...
What Carlton team has he been watching ?
He hasn't gone backwards, but he hasn't gone fowards either JR, just stuck in the same inconisistent/erratic vein of form ..
