Odd that I like to support my team and be as positive as I can? At least I'm not tearing the kid down when he gets a game. I'm a supporter, not a critic.

Agreed, and what makes it worse is when you look at the weapons he has!! Pace, leap, can kick a goal etc etc, if he ****ing gave us 100% he would be something else. He frustrates me so much!!
Luke...the potential inside you have. FFS use it you must.

I support my team as well and try and take a positive approach to things but every single kid at our club is an absolute superstar in your eyes and has 'a bit of Player X' in them and Player X is always a champion. You can be confident without saying omg he has awesome skills hes wikked and he reminds me of darren jarman crossed with james hird. I am a realist while you are a fairy living in la la land.

Congratulations to Luke Jericho for getting selected to play AFL football again.
Memo to Luke
Its been a while since your last AFL game Luke...ever wonder why? Ever sat down after another week of training only to fnd yourself at Westies playing against people who you know your better than? Ever wondered why?
BECAUSE TALENT ALONE DOESNT MAKE AFL FOOTBALLERS
Everyone who is saying this is Jericho's last chance might as well rub him out now. He will be one of the bit players this week, he certainly wont be getting a full game and so could hardly be expected to set the world on fire. He's been out of the AFL side for a bloody long time and is coming in for what will be a pretty difficult game for the team. We cant expect him to be our match winner, just a solid contributor. I hope he goes OK, but if he doesnt, it isnt necessarily going to be his last chance. Like anyone else he should be given a few games to prove himself one way or the other.
Wouldnt mind seeing a few big mouths on here play the game either. I have a feeling they'd make Jericho look like Glen Archer.
Good post. Some of our supporters find it very easy to be negative. It is no wonder there is more atmosphere at home games with people complaining about umpires and bagging our players rather than supporting the team.
Jericho would be ranked somewhere between 35 and 42 on our list and if he can develop into a solid player, that would be great but it is not worth all of the constant vitriol and snide remarks.

So on the basis, for a player who has been in the system for 3 or so years, he should have been delisted last year.
Perhaps so. Did he still have a contract for another year though? Anyway, there is no real harm giving a player one more year at that age. Would have been fairly cruel after sending him off for shoulder surgery too. The club faces far bigger issues than keeping Jericho on the list for an extra year and the amount of attention he gets from supporters is quite surprising.
HA HA the controversial selection we were all waiting for, while I am disappointed neither Pfeiff nor Bryce are in good luck to Jericho. Whilst I may not always agree with our selections once they put the AFC jumper on I support them 110%. Both Norwood lads in the emergencies, hmm hopefully they can be left here to play in the SANFL.
Unfortunatly for Norwood fans Rocket is going to Brisbane so won't line up for us. Having said that I think all Norwood people would love to see him get a go.
Its usual practice for the young guns to go as travelling emergencies. Gives them a taste of what is expected and also gives them the encouragement to keep working hard
One game doesn't make a footballer!I'm glad he's been given a chance.
Finally, after this game we will once and for all be able to put the Luke Jericho debate to bed and we will never have to discuss him again.
One game doesn't make a footballer!
One game doesn't make a footballer!
I think he will at least get 2 games. At least! No but a piss week performance will surely be the end.
What a brave guy you are!! You could just about be sure that no-one in the AFL will kick 10 this week.Welsh named on the bench, interesting. Jericho must have an impact if he wants to keep his spot, if he kicks 10 I will eat my hat.
