North are turning on their own quicker than Richmond

Actually no. When Jesse was a North player, we supported him every inch of they way. Same with Josh Gibson.

Now they have decided to leave, both in particularly pathetic fashions, we have every right to attack them.

Are you kidding?

The club bent over backwards to get this kid right.

The only mistake we made was in giving him Anthony Stevens number 10 Jersey, when we should have transplanted Stevo's heart in to the weak prick.

It's a pretty shameful situation, especially considering North are about to unveil their new state of the art facilities.

I suppose he's gotten to the stage where he feels he needs a 'fresh start.'

That's understandable IMO.

But the way he's gone about it, geez.

Also, counterproductive in it would make other clubs think 'Hang on, do we really want this bloke around our club'?

Bitter much?

Yeah, we're bitter with a guy leaving the club who has played two games since 2007 and has a smashed ankle akin to those in a car wreck and if he can walk again without a limp it'll be a bonus.

Frigging hell they're out tonight. Oh, I should've realised, WA. :o:eek:

That's true, especially if the rumours about his laziness and lack of dedication towards his rehab are accurate.

Though a new start could be the perfect remedy, at least mentally which is probably more important at this stage (if those rumours are true).

I think he would be regretting the way he worded what he said. Personally id be happy with him at Carlton, heard him compared to Goddard which is a big rap, worth a late draft pick and a 1 year contract IMO

Not rumours. On one occasion an assistant coach had to go to his house and get him off the coach to come to a compulsory training session.

Maybe thats why he is leaving, Maybe Brad Scott was going to allow Jesse on top of him? Obviously Laidley was bending over backwards for his players.

ankles are stuffed forever...has all the talent but wont get back on to the ground...apparently went to alot of AFL clubs are failed all the fitness tests

I'm informed that offers made for Smith during trade week were for picks we wouldn't have used (last pick is 53). In other words, no serious interest from other clubs even though picks were traded thick and fast. In that case I'm happy the club didn't trade him.

I think it also says a lot about what other clubs think about the likelihood of him getting on the park on a consistent basis. Looks like he may end up being another Egan, Snell, etc.

I suspect he'll get picked up by someone but it will be on less money and possibly not for two years (which North offered).

The clubs to show interst where Essendon, Geelong, Collingwood, Brisbane and the Western Bulldogs with the Lions and WB unlikely to draft Smith because of salary cap restrictions.

To the posters on here who have been vocally bemused and consistantly using the old '' at people questioning North's medical facilities and staff....

Smith said the lack of full-time medical staff had influenced his decision to look elsewhere

http://www.theage.com.au/realfooty/articles/2009/10/13/1255195778790.html

Smith's manager, Liam Pickering, said yesterday the Kangaroos did not have the right "tools" for his client's rehabilitation.

...

"It's a critical year for his career and he doesn't think, after two years of frustration with his ankle and hamstring (injuries), that North is the right spot for him right now," Pickering said on SEN.

Ouch! That hurts...

The medical facilities line is crap - it got Boomer, Nathan Grima, Leigh Adams, Leigh Harding all right ahead of schedule.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back at North in the PSD

Very late ND pick or pre season pick. He may be a very talented player but he is a big risk. I think either Geelong or Collingwood will take him.

I'd be happy to take him if he's happy to come for low $$$ ala Drum.

If he's still there at 56 I bet we'll take him.

Would be mad not to at that pick, the chance of getting a player who will even play a game at that pick is slim, at least with Smith if you can get him right you know he can play and has alot of potential.
