I thought this would happen. My guess is still White and Kennelly for Davis and Brennan.

We lacked a tall forward last week, and now we've got one (that can go back if need be as well).
Will probably go with Jolly in the ruck resting up forward.

Article also suggests that Kennelly may still be in some doubt, in which case Brennan would get another crack.

Vezpremi and Murphy?
According to Liz he's been struggling with fitness in Canberra. If he can get that sorted out he would probably have to be a chance to debut later in the year.

It's almost surreal to see Roos giving the kids a chance so soon, but we need to do this as we'll have a bunch of retirements in a few years.

The article suggests that White is going to share ruck duties.

If this is the case I would like to think Davis will remain. Until it can be proven that we can have someone else to kick our goals in Hall's absence Davis should stay unless he gets untenable and he was not overtly slack against the cats.

Brennan will go for Kennelly if he is fit and despite I think he went all right the feeling I'm getting is Smith for Matthews.

This is very exciting. Its great that we're blooding young guns, it really adds that spark to the side doesn't it? Though there have been a handful of changes comparing our best 22 from this year to last year, it's certainly an exciting prospect. So far, I think all our younger players have shone and proven what they are capable or potentially capable of.

Why am I not surprised that White is going to debut? He's massive, thats for sure and uses his body well when in a marking contest.

An injury cloud over Tadhg; worrying signs seeing as Roosy didn't really confirm he's fit and raring to go. Brennan will cover for Tadhg if he does pull out on Sunday.

So, if Davis stays (hope so. hasn't had a good chance to prove himself yet) ..

Brennan --> Kennelly
(__?__) --> White

Don't want to see Smith go ..

Which leaves Mattner to do the kick-ins ...

Yeah. It is a bit slack after just one game, but if he comes back next year with a run like Kieren has had, I won't be complaining and neither will he.

Vezpremi and Murphy?
They have hinted in articles they'd like to play Vez towards the end of the year. I can see it happening if he does not get injured.

Another might be Brabazon, to see how he handles senior footy. If he does not get a game this year, then he is probably gone.

Is that official?
Roos said during the week that Smith would get another game.
They've also said in an article on the Swans site that White will play ruck AND forward. Which probably means Jolly will play forward as well (rotating).

Davis is expendable, and was hinted during the week that he'd miss out.

A question for everyone, and honestly.

Once Everitt, Schmidt, Fosdike, Malceski return... is Davis really part of our best 22 anymore?

Given the success of the likes of Moore and Barlow up forward, I would have thought he has now become expendable....

The preseason games made me think that alot of guys who i had previously not heard of have a good chance to make it at a AFL level.

Players who i want to see make a debut either in 2008 or 2009 are

Dean Terlich (impressed me during the preseason games)
Patrick Veszpremi (seems to be rated highly)
Brendan Murphy (going to be a apsolute star)
Daniel Currie (hopefully Spida's replacent)
Daniel O'Keefe (He didnt play great during the preseason but people seem to rate him highly so he will probably turn out all right)
Matthew O'Dwyer (i barely heard of him before the preseason but now i think he will be quality)
Kristin Thornton (obviously wont be this year)
Peter Faulks (possibly the tall defender to replace Leo Barry)

Is it unrealistic to want to see all these players having played atleast 1 game for the Swans by the end of the 2009 season?

Big strong. I think should play a forward role seeing as barry hall is gone. About time he makes his debut

Really happy to see White debuting. It has been great with our youngsters finally coming through but the debut of a key position player really is something to be excited about. Hope he grabs this opportunity with both hands.
