I was very happy to see Nick Smith get a run. But if he failed (which I don't believe he did BTW) I didn't see it making any difference to our chances in 2008 whatsoever. Jesse white on the other hand...here is a kid that can actually have a real impact for us.

With Hall out we've simply missed a presence in the forward line, especially with Spida out. If he comes in as a backup for Jolly that is wonderful news. And if we can put him forward a bit that means we won't have to waste Goodes up there any longer than necessary.

Last week we looked a bit one-dimensional in the forwards without Hall. We never really saw a big bodied player in the forward 50 much at all. We had a lot of players of similar height, and "talls" like LRT, Goodes and Barlow were never really given a forward position and asked to stick to it. It'd be nice to have a guy on the list that we could stick up there for some serious game time (if necessary).

I've seen him play forward but haven't seen him kick too many goals. How's his accuracy?

Is that official?
Roos said during the week that Smith would get another game.
They've also said in an article on the Swans site that White will play ruck AND forward. Which probably means Jolly will play forward as well (rotating).

Davis is expendable, and was hinted during the week that he'd miss out.

A question for everyone, and honestly.

Once Everitt, Schmidt, Fosdike, Malceski return... is Davis really part of our best 22 anymore?

Given the success of the likes of Moore and Barlow up forward, I would have thought he has now become expendable....
With much admiration and thanks for 2005 I have to say NO. He was shocking today. He knew it. I really would be surprised if he played next week. Not if Fosie and Schmidt both had games in ressies this week.
