In those games was White the resting ruck / 2nd forward?, I imagine it will also be different if White is the resting ruck / 3rd forward. That will allow White to play more time in the ruck. I think he can be very competitive in the Ruck and seems to have the tank.
You are right about that. He was the 2nd forward/back-up ruck in Rd 2 and 3. Maybe being the 3rd forward would allow him to pick-up a weaker defender, but I don't think it will have any significant effect on how much time he can and will play in the ruck.

As for being competitive I guess that depends on your definition of "competitive". The sample size with us is small, but if we look at the evidence from his time at Sydney he was not particularly effective in the role of back-up ruck.

Anyway as I said it's a good selection/tactical headache to have. We have some serious depth and a good run with injuries atm so it's all looking good :thumbsu:

I feel the argument re: development is moot, because if Reid goes back then one of Keeffe or Frost will be relegated. Witts would get more opportunities than either of those two in regards to development as Grundy would require a rest far more frequently than Brown/Reid.

Additionally I'm not willing to use the NAB Cup statistics because it's all fluff, and we haven't had a large enough sample portion of White both in and out of the ruck to be able to draw any strong conclusions as to where he best fits. Could you imagine doing this regarding Leigh Brown after his first 6 games?

How good is Collingwood at the moment that we are arguing about how we are going to fit Ben ****ing Reid in, and who we are going to dislodge for guys like Adams, Dwyer, Kennedy, Martin and Karnezis... I know I keep saying it, but these are the definition of quality problems.

edit: just read the post immediately above lol
