Name the quarter then? He was on the wing in the last on Murphy he was up forward in the first three name the quarter he played as a defender?
3rd quarter.

3rd quarter.
You are not talking about the 3rd quarter where he was up forward and took our first mark inside 50 for the game. Bucks was an idiot for playing him, I thought he wa poor but it is not all his fault. He is playing and training as a defender then we play him for the majority of the game up forward and on the wing. Another one of Buckleys master strokes

White played well. He's played well before. He'll play well again. He's still not part of the solution. His inconsistency and mistakes make him part of the problem.
He could be part of the solution. The parts of any solution are most likely either in our list, or not yet on any list.

We need to walk before we run. Right now, winning a match would be a good start.

White played well yesterday, could have had 3.1, but 2.2 was a nice return. I'd rather him ANY day over Cloke.
His marking / attack on the ball seems to have improved this year. Maybe because he knows his out of contract, or
feels the squeeze for a position in the seniors.

Hope he retains his position next week, I don't see bringing Cloke back will solve our problems.

I think his some what wasted down back, because when our clown of a midfield can actually kick the ball into the 50 instead of bombing it, White is actually capable of kicking a couple.
Agreed.
Sorry to intrude .

I made some jokes about his inclusion before the game but watched the replay today and thought he was pretty bloody good. Certainly in your top 5 and he also was one of the few that gave 4/4 effort.

The guy is an enigma and could end up just a football footnote but he also strikes me as one of those journeyman footballers that sometimes find their way into successful teams.

Seemed like he was playing that Justin Westhoff big athletic floater role, doing a bit of everything against Carlton. Kicked goals, provided drive through the middle, even took a nice intercept mark down back. I was impressed with how clean his hands were and how confident and driven he looked, compared to his past work. Would keep him in the side on the back of that performance, and see if he can string a few good games together.

If they insist on playing Jesse, then I would prefer him to be used as a third tall forward who can take the ruck for 5-10 minutes per quarter - this is the role that suits him best IMO.

I agree Bryza, started the third quarter forward but then got swung into the backline for a while where he did pretty well and took a great intercept grab. Then in the last quarter got thrown onto a wing and did even better, influencing a lot of contests and getting the ball going our way.

Exactly, I nearly fell off my chair when White crashed a pack open in defence. I couldn't believe what i was seeing. I want any player in the Black n White to succeed so I really hope White can find a way to keep up some AFL standard form. He's never going to take pack marks so his attributes need to be utilised. A role through the middle and half back might see him break the lines with his pace and agility.

He is kind of amusing to watch, muddled, but heart in the right place

I actually think White is not such much a key position player but more a utility player - that is, can play between half back and half forward. It's taken Buckley about three years to work it out, although no previous coach was able to work White out either.

Dont get the Jesse hate, he played career best footy last year for us.

He is a 1.5 goal, 5 mark forward who will take a screamer in one quarter but then drop a chest mark 10 minutes later.

Not many players can actually avg 1.5 goals in a season, so he is a solid option.

Well played as usual Jessie.
