I agree jetta just has not been doing enough...he needs to earn and cement a spot just like everyone else...with rohan hopefully coming back in the team to inject some pace it might be a perfect time for jetta to go back to the 2s

Maybe they've kept giving him opportunities until there is someone that can take his place. If Rohan is ready to come back, then it will probably be Jetta that makes way.

Thinking back on his 2011, he didn't have a great start to the season but he was beginning to show some promise before falling away in the last few games. But there was definitely some improvement there for a while. Maybe he just needs time to get another pre-season under him ... or I might be just in a VERY generous mood tonight.

Could we adjust Jets to a HBF role and look for a Leon Davis like revival? Granted, Leon has the tackle side to his game more so than Jets, but we need what he potentialy has off HB....Run, carry and capacity to create with kick.

Not the worst idea I've ever heard but as Bedford said... It would need to be in the ACT. We already have a plethora of running HB types in Malceski, Kennelly, Mattner, Everitt, Rohan & Shaw.

I reckon we should teach Mumford to play that attacking half back flanker role. Can you imagine a 'steam train' like him running forward. That gives Longmire another option in the rotations of our 18 attacking half back flankers!!:rolleyes:

Oh dear!

My opinion about Jetta, out of the side completely, he has had enough chances, not to brought back in this year, just checked the team for Saturday, yes I just knew it, he was still in, while everyone around him gets the chop:mad::mad:

at the very least they will have to play someone quick on him.. I gotta admit I was surprised this week after the effort last week however he was far from alone it was most of the team you cant drop them all.. He hasent been as bad most weeks as some say, sure he needs to improve in areas (so do others) but when he does he will be a weapon.. I hope he tears them up this week, Go Jets!

Can someone explain to me how jetta keeps getting a game? Is there no one decent in the reserves?

you must have posted this right after Gerard Healy mentioned him, good to see straight after he took the ball with a cool head had a bounce and set up a goal against the flow. He is also pressuring well and chasing hard.

Pressuring the ball carrier and chasing hard is necessary. Not sufficient. One posession in a half of football is not even close to acceptable. I don't know if he doesn't read the play well or doesn't run hard enough into space (haven't seen any live footy this year), but either way we can't continue to carry him.

Would love to eat my words if he tears it up in the second half :thumbsu:

Im not saying he is doing enough but I like to see positives

Followed up his worst half of the year with probably his best. He was also burned by teammates about 5 times in the first half. Enough? Probably not. I'd have Parker in. He wasn't terrible though.

Yeah, credit to him. He worked himself into the game in the second half. Found space quite a few times, especially in the 3rd quarter. Disposal was iffy though. If you're only going to get a handful of kicks a game you need to do something spectacular with them.

I really, really hope he can improve over the next year or so. We've seen glimpses of talent and we desperately need outside pace.

he is a liability and we cant afford him right now. Its not just that he cant find the footy and is butcheriing it when he does get hold of it. He is too small and light to tackle effectively and elects not to go into marking contests at times when he absolutely has to.
Bring in Parker, he is the anti-jetta. He finds it, he uses it, he tackles well and often and he never shirks.

Jetta didn't shirk anything yesterday, and he tackled quite effectively. Just saying.

You guys should go easy on this guy. Look at some of collingwoods players who are dominating atm. Not even two years ago half of the squad were considered spuds by their fans who would get stuck into players like Brown and Toovey. Two years later and collingwood are flawless. Obviously they (the spud players) were being prepared for a role during those times, much like jetta i suspect.

You need patience with players like Jetta. I know the avg footy fans has a very short attention span..but patience.

yeah he did. One obvious one in our forward 50 where he let Dempster take an uncontested mark. He was front and centre waiting for the crumbs instead of making the contest and bringing it to ground. Last week he did a similar thing up the other end of the ground. Cost us a goal.

One of our sponsors has named a car after him. http://www.volkswagen.com.au/en/models/jetta.html
Instantly recognisable due to its flashy metallic paint job, it normally just cruises around however is capable of bursts of 150km/h+ 3-4 times per day. It has an average safety rating as it is very good at avoiding contact, however it does tend to crumple completely on impact which can be a concern. Poor handling in traffic but excellent on country roads. Fuel efficiency is a concern as it tends to be very expensive for the performance it delivers

No he didn't. The commentators got that one wrong. The ball dropped short, Dempster was going in the right direction to take it, while Jetta was running with the flight and had to do 180 degrees if he was ever going to get a jump at it. Couldn't do it in time, understandably, so Dempster took the mark.

One of our sponsors has named a car after him. I'm hanging out for the VW Roberts-Thomson.
