Adelaide and the Gold Coast Suns are on track despite photographs showing there is much work to do.

Photographs supplied by an AFL supporter in Shanghai show that while the surface is improving, officials will still need to prove it is up to AFL standard.

There is no seating in the stands but these will be built closer to the round eight match.

"We are on track for the game in China," AFL spokesman Patrick Keane said.

"All the temporary stands and seating at the ends of the ground and the marquees won't go in until three to four weeks before the game, as per the event-build schedule. All the work so far has been around the playing surface, which is not the full grassed area but the central area. Our staff are very happy with the turf so far."

Looks to have come up quite well. Difficult to do all things considered with the turf, dimensions and lack of facilities.

Does any one know of the AFL has worked out a broadcast deal yet for the game?
You'd assume so, 3 days out - check the broadcast guide on the AFL website.
Given it's a normal game it'll be on Fox and I think it's also the Channel 7 national game on Sunday afternoon.

He means in China itself... in Aus it's the same as a normal Sunday 3:20 game.

I heard it reported somewhere last night (360 maybe?) that it was getting close and the afl hoped to announce something today... pretty big utensil up if they don't actually broadcast the thing into China given the ground only holds 10-15K and most of them are traveling Australians, hardly any locals you'd imagine.

It could come under the PA broadcast deal they had going into China?

Last I heard it wasn't being broadcast into China, unless that's changed recently.

THE AFL has high hopes that Sunday's clash between Port Adelaide and Gold Coast in Shanghai will be the most watched game in the code's history, after the League finally secured a deal with Chinese broadcasters.

The League made the announcement in Shanghai on Friday morning, just two days out from the clash at Jiangwan Stadium.

The first ever match in China for premiership points will be broadcast live to the local population through three broadcasters, CCTV, Shanghai TV and Guangzhou TV.

AFL general manager of clubs and club operations Travis Auld said the deal was a "significant outcome" for the code.

With three Chinese broadcasters on board, as well as the AFL's domestic broadcasters in Channel Seven, Foxtel and Telstra, the AFL is hopeful it will attract a record number of viewers.

"This gives this game the potential to be the most watched game in the history of our code," Auld said.

"It's another first and something we are very proud of and excited about."

Auld said the delay in getting the deal done was due to "everything taking a little bit longer here in China".

He said the AFL never had any doubt that an arrangement wouldn't be struck with local broadcasters.

Th
Wiki say says the field is 330m x 175m.
The AFL says the field is 160m x 136m .
"Obviously" you have you are way way way off.
that is the field in general. The AFL cut down the Length because it would’ve been too long
