It would depend how it's packaged. It appears to be in six distinct segments, and from the unboxing it comes in two bags of three segments each. So you could build half at a time, which is ideal for me since I don't have a board big enough for 7000 pieces.

In effect then you have 2 x 3500 puzzles, which might be more manageable?

Yep. I try and get all my Christmas shopping done by the end of September, barring any unmissable black friday deals.

This is a lovely puzzle. I notice too Ravensburger has a reasonable Christmas collection out now.

Actually I just looked at the size, 181cm x 120cm it will fit almost perfectly on my 8ft x 4 ft pool table

We only have a standard-ish dining table, the largest size that fits is 4000, so this one done in two halves would be perfect.

I've never completed an actual Christmas themed puzzle - I've looked at them over recent years, including Advent Calendar puzzles, but as they're themed for Christmas the seem that little bit more expensive than they really should be

Where I've been tempted us to then buy them as part of the sales and save them for 12 months to do the following year

We have one that's quite fun, if I can find it in the Christmas things I'll post a photo. It's one of those "what happens next" ones where the picture on the box is different to the one on the puzzle.

If you don’t want to do the puzzle you could do a paint by numbers of the picture. The photo is from reddit in a paint by numbers group I’m in, I saw it and had to share.

Yeah I think yours will be more difficult than my current one because of the numerous and repetitive colours .

This one was quite demanding, with very similar colours throughout. It's called "Around the World in 50 Trees" and comes with an interesting information sheet about every tree thats pictured.

Ah, I meant to mention that. We did finish it after finding it very challenging. These wooden puzzles are deceptively difficult. Even the edges were tricky as many edge pieces weren't readily identifiable as such. Good quality too, we only had one piece that was slightly bowed, and the picture doesn't get scratched when rubbing against other pieces.

No. Sounds like an interesting plot though.

PS, it was reasonably priced at $30 I think, from a bookshop. Did have some issues with false fits, as the pieces are all the same basic shape.

It does take a while to get into the groove of it but once you do it's pretty satisfying. You picked a hard one for your first one.
