There’s an epic 4000 piece one of wooden warships at battle that I also want but it’s been out of stock for over a year.
Was considering this one but I fear it would be beyond me regarding the colours. Impressive on the wall though:

Where does everyone buy their puzzles? We used to shop regularly at Jigsaws Delivered but it seems they are no longer around. These days, much as I hate to admit it, most of ours come from amazon - the advantage is they stock puzzles that wouldnt otherwise be available here (including one we got recently of Sydney Harbour that came from Ravensburger in the UK. Go figure

I found this place online a couple of months ago - I saw someone online ask about where folks buy puzzles, this business was mentioned and I've subsequently made a few purchases from them
I find his prices to be really good, including reasonable delivery costs and he stocks brands that other Aussie companies don't & may only be found on somewhere like Amazon
A couple of months ago I purchased 2 White Mountain puzzles & Ravensburger from him, and even factoring in the delivery cost the purchase was cheaper through him than via Amazon with free delivery
I also have a local place to me called The Last Piece, but I don't think they do delivery

I had a voucher to use at The Last Piece and it was worth it got 3 puzzles and one was free they had a sale when I went there.

He shares a lot of info on that including photos from his travels, stock updates, sales etc - a small business owner that's open with his customers
Everytime I see an update on his FB page, I'll often end up adding more puzzles to my wishlist

Thank you so much for this link. Completely OT, but turns out this shop also sells Sylvanian, which my granddaughters are addicted to. I've already noticed some hard to find sets at OK prices, so guess who'll be the coolest grandpa this Christmas?
Oh, and on the puzzle front, so many I haven't seen before that are now on the wishlist

This thread is kind of embarrassing. 300-400 piece puzzles are about my limit. Anything larger than that and I know there's no point starting, because I won't ever finish. It is incredibly satisfying to put that last piece in though!

I was freaking out last night as I was finishing my big one and during the process had been letting our kitten play in the puzzle box. At the end I was one piece missing and was searching all over the floor thinking the cat had taken it to play with. Ended up finding it camouflaged on the puzzle itself.
The cat now has its own puzzle box to lay in complete with a 1000 piece puzzle I don’t like

I have an indigenous dotart puzzle , 500 piece , it looks simple but took me ages. I also have two 500 piece moon puzzles and haven’t been able to complete them.

For me it depends on the image you’re doing. I do puzzles by breaking down the image. But if you did a puzzle of say a tree, it would be more difficult because the pieces would all be a similar colour making it more difficult.
Firstly, don't be embarrassed, if that's what you enjoy then go for it. There's no right or wrong in a hobby like this. The satisfaction of finishing is the same regardless of size.
Secondly, as others have noted, if you'd like to challenge yourself, work your way up. Find, say, a 500 or 750 piece puzzle with an image that interests you (and perhaps some clear colour differences to make sorting easier) and see if you can push yourself to finish. If that works, try a 1000 piece one - the advantage of this size is that it is by far the most common so there'll be lots of options.
Do any of you lend out your puzzles? I had a very frustrating couple of days trying to find a couple of tiny wooden pieces in a puzzle I'd borrowed, and was just about to replace the puzzle for the owner when they casually mentioned it had a couple of missing pieces and they hoped that wasn't an issue
