While we're bringing players out of the back pasture could we get Welsh back through some kind of mid-season draft arrangement?

I got excited in the third quarter because I thought that Hirdy was going to pull the boots on. That would be a good change, Goodwin too.

I actually think The Weapon could have played Hockings' role in the midfield quite well. Blocking the opposition run and providing some cover/protection for Jobe. Also, as it would only be a cameo performance, he could lay Scarlett out.

i reckon next week is inverted line in the sand time for us. the media will ripping in to us this week, NLM given the start, hocking and lonergan back in for some grunt. Melksham, dyson and dellolio back up to bendigo, and some real speed into the sub role (kav, browne or colyer)

make a statement lads.

I don't even care if Melksham gets a go at Bendigo or not, just lock him away with the weapon for the week. For someone who was supposed to be a junior boxer, was he not, I can't believe the lack of mongrel.

First time caller, long time listener. Please drop Melksham he's been mediocre all year - to think that Dyson/Reimers/McVeigh have to fight for a game while he just coasts though - He's not solely to blame for a shite performance by any means and no doubt he's a future core player, but with someone the calibre of Winderlich returning soon you've gotta wonder why he's kept in the side constantly no matter what - He's needs a spell at Bendigo!

That's what many said before Gumby came into the team v Port.

He kicked 3 and had over a dozen disposals. Not bad for a big man.
Gumby had played several games for Bendigo this year.. he had played 2 of the last 3 weeks (prior to the Port game) and he was alright, so he was more than deserving..

I was told by one of the Super Specs (;)) on this board, that he only played limited game time at Bendigo.

I wouldn't know though, haven't gone to a Bendigo match all year which I'm not too happy about.

Yeah guys let's swing the axe lets drop players who aren't performing. /sarcasm

We are on the very edge of our depth ATM, and ppl are screaming for heads to roll. " but we have kav Browne lee winders colyer" these guys are not going to suddenly stop our poor performances we are a developing side. Kav is a kid he will get destroyed, for some people to call for him when we are getting beaten on contested ball just defies logic. Winderlich has JUST come back from a knee. He will be back in the side but to think that we can just drop those tht are struggling is so knee jerk it's not funny.

Its getting to the point where if we win praise is heaped on the players but if we lose we must trade hooker, shoot Hille bring in the kids and delist half the current squad. I am so happy that some ppl on this board are not in charge of list management at this club because if they were it wouldn't be a possibility that we would miss finals, it would be a certainty.

Negativity— It's Natural
Human brains react more strongly to negative than positive
information. They make certain kinds of mistakes in the way they
process information—mistakes like over-generalizing, seeing things
in too black-and-white, a tendency to confirm conclusions they have
already formed. And we jump to conclusions quickly and easily,
even if we don't yet know enough to decide.
Adam Khan

I'm pretty awful with words so I took this from http://speakingandlistening.com/pdf/S&Lnegativenatural.pdf as I think it's pretty applicable.

Don't understand why Colyer isn't thought before the likes of Dell'0lio, Reimers, Dyson etc.. I know Reimers has been ok lately and Dyson hasn't disgraced himself either but I just feel Colyer's run, carry and goal sense could really give us the boost we need and maybe even freshen thd side up a bit.

I'd like to see these ins over the next month

Ryder
Hurley
Zaharakis
Hocking
Hibberd
Colyer
Winderlich

Potentially
Brown
Kavanagh
Pears

Ryder --------- Hille
Hurley -------- ?
Zaharakis ----- Dyson
Hocking ------- NLM
Hibberd ------- Baguley (although have been impressed)
Colyer --------- Dell'Olio
Winderlich ---- Melksham
