The fact that they are quite similar in roles they can initially play has worked against Ned with Chayce being slightly more rated as ready to go

Means nothing for medium and long term though , Ned will get in soonish and have a great career
Potentially a reason as to why. Just a strange method of development seeing this was a free hit to get some game-time into another prospect we rate highly (and had a good U/23 game).

Especially compared to someone like Poholke, who shouldn't really be in the conversation at all (i'm aware different roles, but we did have 25 players so optimisation wasn't super important).

Very amusing! This is from the AFC site, naming 26, whereas the AFL site says Keath is playing against Norwood and AFC sending only 25. :) Clearly, Keath is ranked player No. 26. Has anyone seen Keath on the plane, or back in Adelaide? Visual evidence needed. I should have gone down to look at training today, but didn't, because I'll be at the match tomorrow.

Agree with the above. McAdam is tracking perfectly, doing all the work and loving it by the sounds, a far cry from Menzel. Its just he came from so far back he, the club, a lot of supporters, but obviously not all, knew that it would take until somewhere from mid this season to the start of the next season before he'd be fit enough.
I like to think of Marty Mattner as McAdams own personal coach

Glad he’s there given his relationship with him

Keath is playing against GWS. Will be playing round 1 against the Hawks unless he is injured.

Good looking squad. Keen as to see Sloane, Gibbs and Crouch x2 rip the GWS midfield a new one.

Hartigan over Keath is a dead set disgrace. From memory, Hartigan came in around 27th-28th in the 2018 B&F votes per game. Keath was somewhere in the top 8. What the **** has taken place since to flip that? It’s the same people who voted selecting the side now. Do they even realise?

We see this sort of blind faith in the more senior player who has proven he’s not up to it (hello VB and D-Mac) every year and I’m actually sick to death of it. Blind Freddy can see that Keath is a better player in the same position than Hartigan. Further to this, Hartigan is a known liability in one on one contests against big bodied forwards, which will be more frequent with the rule changes. Don’t even get me started on his decision making by foot.

This shouldn’t even be a discussion. Utter garbage by the selectors here. Even worse than picking Jake Kelly.

Have a Bex and a good lie-down, mate: you're overreacting. Anyway, Keath is apparently in the side as well, despite earlier fake news from the AFL website.

So we can rule out Greenwood from round 1 as expected he is underdone.

Gallucci I gather is injured, so unlikely too.

So 4 to drop out after JLT2:
Sauce v ROB
Keath v Hartigan v Talia if underdone
2 of Jones, Fogarty, Murphy & CEY

Guess you guys aren't thrilled about travelling to Canberra? Last year the Eagles had to play us at Narrandera and found it a bit frustrating, given their season load. You are a big drawcard and it should be a spectacle for the locals anyway.

I think it's important to us to connect down there early. Usually we play the opening rounds at Manuka while Spotless is in Easter show mode. This year not till round 5. We're going down today with open training and a players meet and greet this afternoon.

It's a good surface and a big ground, should be a good hitout for both clubs anyway.

Indications are that Hately and Caldwell are on the plane.

Nothing about Ward who might miss. Even if he's not playing he might go anyway if he doesn't have rehab obligations. From what I've seen he enjoys mixing with the fans and having his photo taken with the kids etc.

Dont care who wins, just no-one gets hurt and a good hitout is had by all.
Very happy to be playing your mob to show us where we are at , wish josh Kelly was playing though

Talk about a melt.

Kelly is pretty much our only viable defensive option with Brown injured.

Hartigan vs Keath would have been a tough choice

So do I, hopefully a cotton wool thing.
Not sure how much we'll learn. Matthew Nicks has the keys to the "Ferrari" again. Leon seems heavily involved though.

We might match up again in September when it matters, if we can sort the rucks out.
