I don't mind it. Very different looking and younger team so the more game time they can get with each other, the better off we will be. Also puts notice on players that everyone's spot is up for grabs.

I didn't want us to lose him and thought he was starved of a decent go. He busted his guts in our Maggies team last year
playing some really good footy but couldn't crack Ken's glass ceiling. Popular player and well liked amongst our BF posters,
many of whom share my view. Great work ethic with more than a few tricks who might have some self doubts after the
last 3yrs. Treated fairly I think/hope you'll be well rewarded.
As he didn't cost you much your in a win/win situation. Given what he's been thru' his confidence might take a little while.

Nathan Vardy, IMO had a great year for us last year after having no luck at the cats, hopefully Arch goes well here too. I'm so ****ing excited not to have the slowest midfield in the AFL anymore! Can actually look forward to the games now. Too be honest if we get our rucks and midfield up and running, our forward line without injuries will be impossible to contain, all those predicting a fall on the ladder could be in for a real shock.

Well liked amongst the group as far as I know, victim of a skewed selection set up imo. Some players got multiple chances based
on naff all, while others were expected to dominate immediately.
As for SPP we want him to be a real campaigner ........... to the oppo of course. Nah seriously fitting in well and Ken loves him.

Really looking forward to having footy back. I think this is the first year for a while that we have so many spots open going into a preseason. 5-6 spots could legitimately be decided in the next 2 games. Really excited to see how that plays out.

(I doubt we play anywhere near full strength in the unofficial game if that goes ahead- Guys like masten will get his minutes there)

I think most clubs are playing pretty strong sides- there’s not many minutes of full competitive football on offer between now and round 1. Got to take advantage of that.

Curious also to see how Vardy plays. I suspect he’s in the frame as our 2nd tall who takes small minutes in the ruck. So will be good to see how he goes as a dedicated forward.

Yeah, true. But 3 of those ended up being known quantities to an extent- Petrie, Mitchell and Vardy. We went in last year thinking we were contending and the selection matched it.

This year, we could realistically play DV, Rioli/Ryan maybe even Waterman or Brander in our round 1 side. That’s really exciting. Simmo talked in his presser about the vibrancy that comes with younger players in the squad- that works well when there are spots for grabs.

Fair enough ........ that's the spirit, I was beginning to sense some hostility towards Sam .
Not exactly his fault he fell to us in last year's draft and he wasn't our 1st pick anyway, that was Todd Marshall.
Whoever the WCE's picked 1st last year is/will be a gun for all I know. SPP knows he needs to work on some things in his game.
So far we're really happy with him, hence his contract extension.

Ahchee fulltime mid or Hff?

Arch played both roles for our SANFL team. Mid wise doesn't shirk a contest and as for HFF can take a specky moves quickly
and pretty reliable kick for goal. Got an X factor about him too.
