I am under no illusion that the majority of Port supporters are not racists are just normal people - but geez it was dissappointing how many port supporters came to their aid to defend then even though they knew full well what they had said and done.
I felt like their own fellow supporters should've been abusing them for how they had acted instead if having their back.

Doubt Kennedy will be ready. Should give Watson more time, at least he kicks it to West Coast players unlike Nelson.

He shows a bit but boy is he slow. I reckon he is perhaps slower than Hutchings, which I didn't think was possible

Venables just struggled to find it. He looks like a good player when he has it. More midfield time wouldnt hurt if he plays JLT 2

Their group was so effin annoying the whole game. They had even been told to cut it out multiple times from the very first quarter by some Port supporter who had some official Port badge on with his Port shirt. He knew them by name.

But when they called the Sudanese guys N***** in the 2nd half and the two groups started yelling at each other he knew it was going on but pretended not to hear it even though he was sitting a few metres away.

Security did sweet F all about that group the whole game. Coupke warnings is all.

Just watched the Jetta goal and wasn't surprised to see that it was Sheppard who set it up with a brilliant fend off and perfect handball. Sheppard has got to be the most under rated player in the league. Every time I watch the Eagles I focus on him and he does so much work that he doesn't get enough praise for. How do you guys feel about him?

Last year wasn't his best year. In the finals in particular he wasn't great. Today he was exceptional. I think his best role is as an undersized third tall. He plays the role super, super well. Was spectacular in 2015 in that role when we were 2 or more key defenders down all year.

Great player when in form, however, had a poor year last year.

Huge reason he is underrated (well IMO anyway) is that he isn't a huge ball winner for a player of his type and thus the media /fan overlook him. Most of the better small/mid size defenders today are great accumulators of the footy and are very offensive. While Shep isn't poor in that area, he is however, well behind the likes of Liard, Docherty, shaw and etc. On the other hand his defensive work for a small/mid size defender would be up there with the best going around atm. He could genuinely match up on blokes like wingard/gray/betts/walter but he has also gone with much bigger guys like Jack Reiwoldt, Stringer and the Gunston types.

He was horrendous in the third qt and early on in the 4th and then ended the game ok.


Like we learned from Priddis over the years and Gaff last year; ton of possession doesn't equate to a great game.

Heard that Ah Chee sustained an ankle injury - as I did not watch the game don't know whether he came off or not?
 
Really enjoyed that, didn't expect as much pressure from either side although the skill levels were predictably rusty. Glad we've got two exciting small forwards coming through and the backs & midfield look sharp.

As for the commentary I'd rather it be slightly out of sync than put up with those vanilla hacks again - either do your research or be funny, if neither then gtfo. Time to stream 720 or similar on the next tab.
 
Speaking of the ****ing commentary, tried listening from the afl website and from an app that streams the radio. The afl website worked for a grand total of zero of the supposed streams and the app which i tried to play 6pr on just said we have gone to our football coverage please rejoin us after the game................ ****ing took phone and earbuds, ****ed around for 20 minutes only to be pissed off.

Seriously though, when he came on we started to take control of the game and ended up winning. Coincidence? I think not. :D
