Anyone know how many players we can name for JLT2? Assuming it's 24, I would like to see parto and willy come in and take out schoey, ainsworth, mcinnes and Watson.

I thought ainsworth ok but he needs some time at East Perth first. Same as Watson. Mcinnes and schoey are purely depth imo.

Anyway though yeo, Jetta, shuey, gaff and redden we're all good.

Duggan and Cole we're decent too imo.
Was also happy with lycett.

Darling fml was average. He's better then that.
From what I heard the chemistry in the forward line was lacking - will take time I guess?

Jack Darlings training sessions should consist of only chest marking practice

Can remember Quentin Lynch used to have a rubber chest until he was taught to put his hands out front when attempting a mark. Think Jack needs a decent forward coach!

Yeh I reckon our two clubs developing quite the rivalry in recent times

BTW very disappointing to hear about these racist comments at todays game, that is just not on, sadly we still have a few of these types
There was certainly a lot of feeling out there today- I reckon you’re right!

I don’t think anyone from port needs to apologise on his behalf. He doesn’t deserve your attention. Unfortunately people like that still exist.

I love ours, but really like port's too. Remind me Ashfield in the Swan Districts zone.

Port going for the 80's and early 90's Windies ODI kit. Who cares about Port though, I want the Windies to bring back their awesome grey kit. Curlyhair Ambrose can come out of retirement, too.

And Darling spoiled himself the rest of the time

During the off-season, it seems to be the case that Darling's been putting in some extra training by attending the Quentin Lynch school of chest marking. Turning straight forward chest marks into clangers means Darling's training is bearing fruit. Darling is still a padawan compared to the great one, though. Only after a few more seasons of dropping sitters is when he'll be deemed worthy of having his name placed on high next to the gloved one.

Where can you view pre season TOG stats?

I was there! I was sitting in the box to their right (if facing them). I actually got in the mix when the Sudanese guys came over after the game to the group and I stepped in to try stop other Port degenerate from trying to back his redneck fellow supporters.

Their group was so effin annoying the whole game. They had even been told to cut it out multiple times from the very first quarter by some Port supporter who had some official Port badge on with his Port shirt. He knew them by name.

But when they called the Sudanese guys N***** in the 2nd half and the two groups started yelling at each other he knew it was going on but pretended not to hear it even though he was sitting a few metres away.

Security did sweet F all about that group the whole game. Coupke warnings is all.

Were these the idiots I could hear during the game yelling and shouting like a bunch of dickheads? Came through super loud on Foxtel. Almost muted it.

Also have you contacted Port about that official? I saw him in the video on PerthNow you can see him in the polo, PA cap, with a badge on and a lanyard around his neck.

Disgusting that this BS still happens.

Positives:
- Matched them just about for clearances and beat them for contested possessions, two really important KPI's for us.
- More tackles which was clearly a focus
- Gaff and Shuey leading the midfield from the front
- Redden had what I thought was an excellent midfield display, his best performance for the club IMO
- Jetta, Sheppard, Vardy all prominent
- Yeo didn't look lost in the midfield when he played there
- I love Cole's intent, still has a small frame and he got monstered at times (particularly by Dixon as you'd expect). With more experience he will become more composed but he is a decent talent.
- First game under the belts of some important younger guys (Ainsworth, Venables, Ryan) and they will all be better for it. I liked Ainsworth's game.
- We won the game despite no Kennedy, Naitanui or McGovern albeit they missed Rockliff.

Negatives:
- LeCras had no impact but it wasn't a day for forwards
- Darling doing dumb shit
- Ah Chee recruited as a forward? Little to no impact there, worried he might become Redden'd.

Other notes:
- Cripps was average with the ball but toiled hard defensively. If he is putting in the defensive efforts he's needed.
- Venables looked like he lacked confidence, but spent alot of time forward of the ball and as I said it wasn't a game for forwards. We do seem to have an issue where HFF's can't find the ball under our gameplan.
- Not sure I see it with Francis Watson still, maybe I'm being negative but he seems like an average back half accumulator. Hopefully gets another JLT run anyway.

JLT2:
Naitanui -> McInnes (listed but didn't play?).
Rioli -> Watson
Partington -> Hutchings
Brayshaw -> Ainsworth
Brander -> Schofield/Waterman

I hope Vendables doesnt turn into a Koby Stevens 2.0

He has all the right attributes to be a good football player but struggles to find the pill.

Im not convinced. I liked a few things he has done and can see potential but also can see that it can fall quickly if he doesnt bring enough. Just needs to get more games in him and hopefully will see that game we know he can produce.

Welllllll he must be on the path to being Koby Stevens 2.0 if you aren't convinced with him in his first ever hit out against AFL quality opposition in a pre season game. haha

he'll be right mate, have faith

Was super impressed by the intencity and endeavour of the entire team. Its something we lacked most of last year and has frustrated us to no end. If we can maintain it we'll push for the top 8 especially when Kennedy and Naitanui get back.

Really liked Ainsworth - showed glimpses of class and did some important little things.

Jetta was brilliant all game (even before his match winning bomb from 60m!) - was engaged the whole game - ran chased tackled kicked it beautifully. HB suits him and we need more run and class of their. Would rather Jetta than Duggan back there.

Duggan still moves like a baby giraffe (goes to ground to easy) makes slow and dumb decisions and has a poor skill error that ends up in a turnover in a dangerous part of the ground. I'm a huge Duggan fan but it's concerning.

Vardy is a gun - so underrated.

Lycett - we've missed his ruckwork and aggression. Needs time to build to form after a long time out of the game.

How quick did we look without Priddis?!
We moved the ball so well - spread and overlapped well.

No surprises Redden stood up again without Priddis. In for a big year.

Can't wait to see Rioli back. We lacked a small crumber.

Ryan looked a little lost at times and tried too do much at times. Struggled against a taller defender and when he couldn't get a run from behind to take a mark. That being said our forward line was flooded. Still showed glimpses and if he can average 1-2 goals a game you would happily take it for a first year player. Will take mark of the year at some point this year!

Unsure on the Cole praise.

I thought he was average with a fair few Matt Rosa helicopter specials.

Nah he was impressive off HB - did a lot of nice things. Probably shouldn't kick inside 50 though haha. That being said our forward line was flooded - so didn't have much choice.

Disagree with you on Watson. Shows evasiveness, speed and tenacity although his kicking is dodgy. I think there's definitely something to work with.
I wouldn’t say he was horrendous and he does have some skill but until he gets composure he will be a liability. At the moment his goal seems to just show how he can get away from tacklers. After that, he seems to either throw it on the boot or handball to the nearest person. Would be better off giving it off to a better option first and then run on for the assist...kicking needs work too but that may be due to rushing it.
