And how would you rate Le Cras form yesterday? He looked cooked to me and I am yet to find a description of his game yesterday that is flattering

Le cas game mimiced the entire forward line. Rusty and didnt really gel. No JK and Ryan was given a goal square role so Leca was pushed uo the ground.

Pretty hard to assess on that game.

Jetta and Yeo's goals were all class. Ryan's was nice also, but lets not talk about his miss...

God help us if we miss Kennedy for any length of time. Forward line just doesn't work that well without him. Bit of a duh comment... best forward in the league... of course they struggle when he isn't there.

Was happy with the hitout. Happy we kept pushing in the fourth to get over the line. Good signs, especially as it was a really warm humid afternoon. Lets not have any last quarter fade outs this year.

Port supporter dropped $5 on the way out and didn't notice. Gave it back to him. Supporter Karma scoreboard Eagles +1 Port -1.
Our entries were shocking and bombed in. When you have two 191cm talls, bombing in won't work. Both darling and murky will suit a more direct style of play.

Good hit out. Not too concerned about the result but it is always nicer to win.

Good to see Redden step straight into that contested mid role, hope Sheed can step up too. Shuey and Gaff are all class.

Horses for courses I would say. If fit can't see either Kennedy or Jack being dropped to fit in the "smalls". Obviously form and fitness will be the key.

Yeah IDK, I just thought that when Simmo talked about "simulating Richmond" it meant playing mostly small forwards along with JD and JK.

Probably just interpreting it wrong.

Clearly the intent wasn't there hence it's only a week. So they are essentially punishing him for clumsiness, or for not bumping with appropriate skill. It's tricky business, on one hand we love players who go hard at the ball but there does need to be some accountability in terms of how they go about it.

0 Defensive pressure from Priddis yesterday.

Just on the rucking. Vardy looked more dangerous up forward, but Lycett looked a lot better in the ruck. Will be an interesting balance once Nic Nat is up and about as we will loose too much forward defensive pressure playing all three.

McInnes isn't as good as either Lycett or Vardy, but I think he is better for our forward structure (as in gives us something to kick to) which could be valuable if Kennedy misses games...

He didn't do a lot, couple of nice things in front of me but the whole forward line looked a bit disjointed. I was commenting on people who watch footy looking for negatives to confirm their preconceived opinion.

I'm sure it's been covered but I ain't reading through, a concern I have out of this game is the expectation on Liam Ryan, I hope the club itself are realistic of what he'll bring to the side, I fear him becoming a lost player if the expectation on him in the spotlight is to only do special things and then crucified for not doing it often enough or much else.

Clear talent, one that I hope sticks to the basics with some added flair.

Gaff was probably the most impressive for me. Looked like he was running on top of the ground, disposal was sharp, and was pretty good when he had contested possessions.

From a player sponsorship point of view... we were loosing at half time, threw Watson into the game and BAM, the whole momentum of the game changed and we won.

Watson 1, Port Adelaide nil.
