Agreed. SPP was a manic turnover merchant that game. Still not sold on either.

Didnt SPP go close to winning the Rising Star last year? Im not sure how that doesnt blow what Venables has done out of the water by a mile. Dont get me wrong i hope Venables reaches his full potential but right now SPP has provided way more to his team than Venables has. To say that theyre even is a bit of a stretch for even the most fervant fanboy imo. :)

Venables - Age: 19yr 3mth (November 19, 1998)
SPP - Age: 20yr 1mth (January 8, 1998)

Pretty big age gap, Venables was super-under aged in his draft year.

Someone posted the TOG numbers earlier. We played our big kahunas a lot longer than Port.

It's not so surprising we worked back into the game given this.

was that on the port board? I saw that as well- something like we had 13 players play 80% of the game and they had 5.
In typical whinging Port style, he gave this as the reason that we won 'cos they was tryin arder than us'. Now as far as I see it, if we had a lot more players with over 80% game time in those hot conditions, they should have run over top of us not vice versa. Not to mention our CHB only played 10 minutes.

So the scratch match this Sunday, will it be open to the public?

Does someone on Twitter want to berate the club for an answer (and in turn for a potential negative response)?

From afl website:

Meanwhile, the WAFC has confirmed this Sunday's practice match between the Eagles and Dockers will be closed to supporters.

"Unfortunately, Subiaco Oval is in the process of being decommissioned as a public venue, including the removal of catering equipment and other public amenities, and therefore is not in the position of being able to host the number of fans expected to want to attend the match," the WAFC statement said.

"The potential for providing the amenities required to host football fans at the match were explored by the two clubs and the WAFC, however cost considerations proved too high."

I'd be blaming Ed Sheeran.

Is there a way to punish a team for playing this style? It seems to be how Richmond & the Bulldogs do things too with reliance on rebound & overlap running. I worry we are always playing rock when the competition is favouring paper.
Yeah punish them by scoring . If the game is played predominantly in our forward half all season I will be happy .

Wouldn't kill the bank balance of either of the clubs to stream it on their website surely?

They couldn't play it at Leederville again? I'm sure it wouldn't upset either of the co-tenants as each made a killing in food and drink sales from their respective club premises during the WCE v's Port game on the weekend.

Don’t want to lose another JW medalist on the eve of the season, do we?
Then again, it could work out nicely! Harley could come on from the crowd at quarter time and pull his mate Wilson aside to tell him what he's doing wrong. Ross would have no other option than issuing him with his final, final, final warning.....

"2, 2 and a half, 2 and three quarters..."
