Drop Schofield, Karp, Masten and Ainsworth. Nelson very close, but think he deserves another opportunity before the season starts and maybe in midfield. More likely to play this year than Ainsworth.

I think that the wing would be the perfect position for Nelson, been thinking that since before his 1st injury last year, perhaps he's just not suited to be a defender. Far from a lost cause imo, I hope they start him there in the WAFL. He was tried as a mid in the WAFL a few years ago iirc.

To play on wing u need to have weapons. Speed and skills ideally but at least one of those. He has neither. I am not sure if why people think he is a winger, is it because he is lanky? That’s not what makes someone a winger.

He is a hbfer and if he doesn’t make it there, he won’t make it. It’s not his defending that’s the problem.

What a complete bias dog shit comment, complete vendetta against the bloke
Got a heart of gold and has been serviceable at times but its time to look away from players like Masten, Hutchings and even schofield.
I'm going to put it out there now. Hutchings will be top ten in the b+f abd I have him 50/50 for top 5.
Jesus christ, don't think i can deal with 2010 repeating it self again.

Hutchings is a pick 60 who has more work ethic than half our team put together a lot of the time. I'm not saying he should be an automatic selection, but people are way too bearish on him. He fights hard, has a propensity to make big plays and in my view is a bit of an on-field leader in terms of attitude.

By the way, the median games played for a pick 60 (+/- 3 picks) across his draft year and the two years preceding him is 15. He's a bloke who plays above his grade.

For those of you playing at home, the only unequivocal 'wins' in that group of ~20 players are Lachie Neale and Tory Dickson.

I like Hutch, as a supporter he's more than handy but he can be very frustrating at times. I think he's always been a leader, given he wa U18's captain (I think).

He isn't scared and he can tackle, sometimes wish he used it better and the annoying thing is it's mostly decision making, his execution can be good at times.

Nelson has pace, much faster than Gaff or Masten. Id rate his skills on par with Masten except Nelson can make and break a tackle.

Also make a good run with mid or defensive forward. Not sure on his goal kicking abilities.

I just hope they at least give him a crack. He looked very good off half back last year prior to injury.

Goal kicking is not his forte. 1 goal in 32 games. If you don't like his field kicking then don't watch his goal kicking.
