Are you aware Brown did not kick more than 40 goals in a season until his 8th season? This will be Darlings 8th season (I think)There are stats and there are stats. I'd have thought Priddis' career would have taught us that.
Jon Brown took over games and stood up in the biggest moments. Jack Darling has rarely (ever?) been that guy. Brown was an absolutely key part of one of the best teams of all time. Darling is a perfect reflection of the West Coast era he has played in. Kind of good; statstistically decent; not really a threat to the best teams and not really someone those better teams worry about.
His career to date has been entirely decent but would we be demonstrably better or worse or more particularly any less of a threat to win anything if he wasn't there? Arguably not.
Ultimately he's not big enough to be a genuine first option tall and he's not agile or talented enough to play further up the ground or run through the midfield. He is what he is, a general solid second or third option in the home and away season, particularly at home and against non elite teams.

And if you're talking about being a big contributor in Brisbanes flag seasons.. Brown kicked a total 79 goals in the 3 seasons. An average of 26 a season. Hardly amazing.
sure I'll give you his latter years have Darling covered.. but I still have hope Jack can get better
