For me I am hoping he competes, brings the ball to the ground, works really hard and applies really good defensive pressure.
Couple of snags woild be a bonus

I'm just waiting for Andy Maher to say that Jack Watts is rated better than Naitanui.
That's probably the main part of his game that Darling needs to address. As Ive said previously Lynchy used to have the same problem until he learnt when taking a mark to put his hands out in front of his body - Darling needs to be coached to do the same. Jaymie Graham earn your keep!
(Just in case some are confused I'm talking about the big Q and not Lynch from Brisbane.)

Would it be as windy at Joondallup as Freo? I would say not but I'm no weather expert!
Didn't read your post properly the first time - so Joondallup is normally quite windy - interesting.

I haven't been to Fremantle for years, so I have no idea about Freo weather. The ground is very open to the elements though if you haven't been there. A slight seabreeze and it is windy at the Joondalup ground.
I would guess the weather would be similar though. What is it, ~50km apart and both on the coast.
Is it 33' in Joondalup today. Its hotter than summer was if so
Watts' JTL games have been far superior to Naitanui's.

Parto not getting much game time this pre-season. Being saved for the season proper?
I'm excited, mostly to see the young kids and our stoppage work without Priddis, Naitanui and Mitchell. Hope Lycett finds some good form and Redden continues his.
I want to see Ainsworth with some more trust in his kicking and Brander get his hands up for everything, I also want to see Duggan & Venables perform some magic that makes you applaud. They both have it in them I think.
As for Darling, I just want him to continue his play from the second half of last season where he didn't play for frees, tried to keep his feet and accepted that the umpires sometimes will miss him being infringed and got on with it. That's the key to him playing good football.
