Solid first hit up, a lot to like.
Shuey, Redden and Sheed in the middle were all excellent - moreso the first 2.
If Redden can continue to be given opportunities in the middle we'll be better for it (can't see why he wouldn't).
Sheed continued to get in hard and release from in close as well as presenting as an option coming out from defence, possession at times was a little iffy, but generally good.
Gaff is a star, we'd be stuffed without him - constantly presents as an option, continues to be 'death by a thousand cuts'.
Duggan was sublime early, super clean and kicking well, really liked a lot of what I saw yet again from him.
Shep looks like 2015 version which is great, although his awareness at the end nearly cost him, he was bloody strong to take the bump from a charging Dixon. But he was cool and calm down back, excited for his season.
Jetta was great off the half-back, hopefully he stays there all season allowing Yeo to be released more up the ground.
Kicking was generally excellent, gained a lot of territory and finished the game off well.
Cripps was one of our better forwards, didn't always do as well with ball in hand, but laid a team high 7 tackles along with applying a lot of pressure, he always gives 100% can't ask for much more. Just needed to finish off his hard work with some goals.
Vardy/Lycett are excellent backup ruckmen for NN, both go in hard and can offer something as forwards.
Waterman showed great intent from start to finish, chased hard when without the ball, and apart from one incident generally lead well.
Has a bit to work on in terms of disposal and positioning, but with our delivery i50 being a little average he toiled away well.
Ryan is everything we hoped for, early call but can see him really lighting it up. Was a little fumbly at times, but he'll play Rd. 1
Ainsworth did some nice things early, very comfortable in the clinches and loves the contest.
Venables used every touch well, the concern is his inability to get involved, but I'm sure that will come, had 74% TOG so was given opportunity which is great. Think he'll be a 15-20 touch player, but all critical disposals.
Port were missing a couple of players and rested most of their stars for long periods, so not a lot to take away, but a great hit out and a win's a win!
