It's almost like they were too scared to take the risk on someone at the time who was seen as potentially a little mentally weak, for want of a better word I suppose.

We had to come across as the golden boys of the AFL and couldn't risk any more tarnish at that stage.
If you ask me, it ******* weak leadership from the very top of the tree.
Poor culture and no confidence in our development team to work with him and have a positive outcome.

Ugh.. I can't stop thinking of McInness getting reamed by Joe Daniher last year. If he plays a substantial amount of games this year then god help us all.
In all fairness I think Daniher is every chance of being the premier KPF/KPP of his generation. He is a real top end talent.

If he played last week, and isn't right to go next week, then *Drum roll please* that is actually a two week period...so good job with the math there mate. :drunk:

I have no issue with not having a set return date, in fact I'm all for it because clearly there have been a huge amount of complications and IMO we won't be seeing him for a good while yet, if at all.
My problem has been with the way the club has milked his return for near on half a year now as a way of generating marketing and ticket sales, and yes I understand that they are well within their rights to do so, however I personally find it incredibly dishonest and distasteful.

You seem happy being fed their bullshit, good for you.

Your over reacting.

Take a chill pill and stop being so impatient.

There are no certainties in life so why would B
Nics return be any different.

The club cant say either when he will or wont play.

Amazingly for the first time I agree with Gary Lyon. Club should simply rule him out and if he gets up for round 1 thats a bonus.

I don't buy into the entire "the club can keep as much information to themselves" shit at all. I'm a paying member, I'm entitled to know what's going on with what I'm paying for.

The Eagles still live in the early 90s where they think playing smoke and mirrors with injuries and selection are going to give them a competitive edge. It's not. It's 2018 now and clubs are much better prepared for contingencies.

You're* not comprehending my point at all. Shocking.

Agree 100% but our club has been far more focused on the bottom line than actually winning for a long time now, have to milk that NN gravy train for as long as possible to sell that merch.

It entitles you to the same seat at the game every week and nothing more .

If you dont like how they run the club you can pass your membership over.

You don't think they make 1 cent profit from my membership? Or use any of my money for operating?

Perhaps you need to search for the definition of 'club' and 'membership', then once you're clued in you can let Nisbett and his lackies know too.

Lastly if I don't like the way the club is run, I get to voice my opinion, that's what being a member of said club entitles you to. If you don't like it, log out.

Lol. The Roar have Collingwood (10th) and St Kilda (12th) finishing above us (13th)
Who knows where the hell we'll finish. We're in no mans land. Could finish top 4. Could "win" the spoon...

times.

How have they been focused on bottom line only rather than winning? Is it just because they make money it automatically means they focus on that?

Especially since winning=higher bottom line+higher bonuses+job security. I doubt clubs make that much money on merch. I certainly don’t see recruiters selling merch on the street so I can’t see where you see the focus is on money and not winning.

Do you think your membership gives you the right to intellectual property like medical reports ?
Do you think you should be kept in the loop because you pay $1000 a year like 40k others ?
The delusion is high

Galileo9 - I agree- this backs that up. We do sell a fair bit of merchandise, but in the grand scale of things this doesn’t really impact on our bottom line.

Winning most certainly does. So to suggest we just try to make money and not bothered about the on field result is a strange argument.

I’m not worried if Nic doesn’t play round 1. He will play this year. It seems like he is managing the extra loads we are putting into him- he just needs more to be able to withstand the repeated bursts needed at the top level. Giving him a few extra weeks to make sure he is still going by round 16 is better than rushing him back and we have to rest him for a few weeks mid year.

Plus, I think we can get away with not playing him until round 3 anyway. It’s not like the swans or dogs have a standout ruckman anyway.

The delision is high

Intellectual property? lol

I don't think it's too much to ask for some transparency. Something as simple as "He's not quite right, we've had some complications with his recovery and we're not certain on his return yet" instead of the "He'll be right to go in the next week or 2" that we've been hearing now since November.

If you and others are happy enough to be gobble up the steaming bowl of bullshit that's been served up by the club regarding player availability since forever then that's great for you. Real supporters will just have to question the clubs motives and information in an attempt to ensure we avoid repeats of the crud we've been through already.
