We got a lot of ticky-tack possessions in the second half and really took the foot off the pedal. Carlton played like they were playing for points, we seemed to just treat it as a scratch match.
That the Feel I got. Carlton was going like it was the Grand Final and we where out there just to get the Miles into the Legs

Didn't see a second of it and I know it's only JLT but looking at the raw stats our midfielders and team dominated possession and yet we only walked away with a narrow victory against last seasons worst side.

Not getting much bang for our buck was the blueprint for Collingwood prior to the 2018 season so should I be worried?

Needless to say we need de Goey and Stephenson back for Geelong with Hoskin-Elliott hopefully not to far away either to strengthen the attack.

Did Cox play the whole game as his performance looks underwhelming?
The ground was a lot narrower than the MCG and the pockets were quite shallow meaning it was a lot easier to clutter the forward 50. The surface seemed quite soft and spongey too.

Also the type of game were we only flexed our muscles when needed.

And Sier, Wells, Hoskin-Elliott, Dunn, Adams (in addition to previously mentioned Stephenson and De Goey). Plenty of improvement to come in.
I agree. Though Dunn be Battling with Roughead who was Good Today. Can't Count on Wells but I say Adams and/or Sier be big Difference in the Middle and WHE,Stephenson and De Goey add more Class

Our ability to score was average - having some really clean ball through the middle particularly in the 1st half.
Ball use of half back was putrid all day which didn’t help the forwards.
But there’s enough to have some concerns on what a fwd line without DeGoey looks like.
Cox was ok but not great. Goldsack, Brown, Varcoe, Mihocek as a Forward grouping simply don’t have the scoring power so my hope is only 1-2 of these ever appear in there together.
The mids did flick the ball around a lot so the stats were misleading. Cripps was just as effective as any of them.
It was ok but enough to make me edgy about Rd 1-4.

Our defence is flowing beautifully, especially with 4 Sidebottoms on the ground at once (how does he do it?!?)

Liking Aish's presence and Cal Brown - they've obviously upped their running games.

Crocker over Daicos?!? Why?!?
Maybe bucks needs another special project player, now that Chris is the Mayne man? Nah.....😂

Which boys need a run in the VFL next week if they want to play Rd 1?

Mayne, Sier and Howe are the three that need another hit out for mine. The rest probably can have the week off.
