I don't know who you would replace KMc with.
The similar type position players would be Grigg, Ellis and Markov, playing on a half-back flank or wing.
KMc probably shades Ellis and Markov.
Only fair to give KMc a run.
Markov is nowhere near the others.
Anyway, it is good to have a range of players competing.

In terms of a four man interchange, I would probably select Balta, Broad, Ross and Soldo.
That makes for one category of each player, forward, defence, negating mid and ruck.

You’re being far to harsh on Grigg, he essentially managed to do something no other midfielder we’ve ever seen done in the modern game.

To also try and imply he’s scared of a contest is laughable. He’d regularly go against ruckman 15cm and 15/20kgs bigger than and he’d give it his all at each of those contest.

To say Griggs role didn’t work last year is so far fetched we still managed to finish as the top team in the home and away season. No it didn’t work against Collingwood in the Prelim but a lot of things didn’t work that night.

Grigg playing in the ruck played a huge part in the game plan and style that we’ve been able to create, there’s no regular comments saying he should continue playing in the ruck but don’t go trying to use him as a whipping boy. He’s played a very important part of what we’ve been able to achieve and finding a way to have another player successfully play his role won’t be an easy task.

Correct. We would have done better with Bolton in the team. Faster, more skilled, kicks more goals etc.

we want mids on the bench we dont need specialist positional players when the side is full of them already and we have plenty of players who perform several roles so have cover

Lambert Ross Edwards Rioli all far better options on a wing than Ellis and McIntosh who most certainly have plenty of flaws in their games.

Not hard to find blokes who will run both ways, defend a player well, put their head over the bal,l tackle, find enough ball both contested and inside, and just make good decisions and be clean with the ball. Those two dont tick enough boxes. even if you rolled them into one player they still would not tick enough boxes.
