Am I being paranoid about a midfield injury?...otherwise why not leave Davis emergency and keep them guessing about real team.

Why would we name JMac as an emergency?

I was really happy until i saw that.

Good point however it would only because he is the last of the team to have any game time over the last 4 weeks. words from the camp are pendles and Didak are both 80%. Personally Davis should have been left in the emergency for the event that we lose a midfielder... He did play a midfield role last year but like i mentioned in my previous has to be injured or incapsitated. Either way i think we should be ok with this as all the boys trained.

IF....We wanted to play Davis, not naming him as an emergency won't stop us bringing him in.

BTW has Davis always been 'fat'?
He looked in terrible shape with his top off. No wonder he couldn't be moved up the ground to get involved.

Has played a number of finals. Has played St.K a number of times. Has played St.K in a number of finals.

I wouldn't bring him in late but as a 25th man I'm not opposed behind Presti+Lockyer. Certainly more deserving for mine than Davis/Medhurst.

If the concession is that Davis isn't fit, why leave him as an emergency.

J-Mac played in Rd 22, so it's not as though he's been away from it for ages.

You'd want all of your emergencies to be at full fitness - If you get a late injury, you don't want to be bringing in a half-injured player.

But he is no good, Medhurst should be ahead of him.

The last time J-Mac played he was used in a tagging role and commentators kept saying maybe Malthouse is trying out a few things before finals, maybe he is just brought in for a negating role on someone...

Another 'masterstroke' of a selection by Malthouse - NOT! Might be a decent player in the future with a few games under his belt but an emergency in a Grand Final??? Gimme a f****n break!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would it be possible that IF there was a late change, that tarks could come in before the jmac? move heater to the midfield and the sack to defence?

Whilst he has plenty of talent, and looks good in the VFL, so far in the big league he has pretty much stunk it up.

I really pray he stays as far away from the 22 this week as possible, because he will be exposed big time if he plays.

I agree that he may be exposed if played, but what J-Mac have you been watching to say he's pretty much 'stunk it up' in the 'big league' is just outrageous.

You all know emergency means he isn't playing unless wait for it there is an emergency

Wrong Opti. Mick has clearly stuffed up by naming J Mac as an all important emergency. I mean, the bloke will be near the field on the gameday. That's enough trouble :o

I'd give J Mac less then 3% chance of playing.

The same one Ive been watching. Done nothing of note and barely serviceable if not below average. This is not his time.

Next year Id like us to give him a few games in a row to show what he can do but no way Jose on Saturday should he be anywhere near the grass of the M.C.G.

I seriously doubt he'll play and that Mick has any intentions of playing him. If there is a midfielder under an injury cloud I'd predict that Lockyer comes in. I'm thinking maybe Mick just put him in as emergency to give him some sort of GF experience, but without playing. Don't the emergencies warm up and run out with the team before the game?

The team is only named at 5 pm on Thursday for the media. Doesn't mean anything really.

it either tells me medhurst and davis are injured or have told the club they want to leave at seasons end because no way in hell is mcarthy better or more deserving then those two.

He is our next best performed midfielder that isn't in the side and has played as recently as round 22, it's pretty self explanatory to be honest.

Just give St.Kilda the cup now!

But he is no good

Bookmarked, if anyone else wants to add themselves to the list of people that think this kid is a spud, just speak up now.
I wouldn't want you to miss out on being publicly shamed and ridiculed in a year or two :)

He needs to do whatever the hell Wellingham did last year. People were saying the same thing about Wellers, with the same doubts about whether he'd ever make it and look at him now. He wasn't too crash hot in any of the games he played this year though, can't really blame people for being skeptical if he'll make it.
