They are both guns in my opinion.

This thread wasn't a dig at Swallow.

I find it amusing that Kings Army is stuck in a paradox where he says Watson is a terrbile player yet admits that he is better than Swallow while at the same time voting Swallow a better player than Watson :rolleyes:

Thanks for the entertainment K.A. Lets do it again sometime.

Why do you make rubbish up? In the Watson thread I stated he won't be a top 10 player in the league and that he is a terrible kick. I still stand by that - especially after watching him butcher the ball on Sunday. Big difference between terrible kick and terrible player. But you keep listening to those voice in your head - at least you can blame your made up posts on them.;)

Watson is an A grader and has come out this year and look like he's added an extra string to his bow and push into an elite category. Or it could be that Essendon's midfield has stepped it up and allowed Watson to flourish. Hope our midfield can help out Swallow as well.

No shame if Swallow is behind him. He's tracking to be one of our best players and our next captain. Just an inside, tackling beast. And is very underrated as a goal-kicker. Absolute money when he has a set shot inside 50.

Stats above are too limited, to make a case based on those alone.

Damn BF and the obsession with disposals and goals (occasionally marks or tackles).

What about clearances, first possesions, hardball gets, contested posessions.

If you want to make a case one is more attacking than the other and not just doing the grunt work then i50's, goal assists and score assits.

From watching both play, Watson is currently better, Swallow was better at the same age and indeed it was very close last year regardless.

Just personal opinion but I also think Swallow will end up the better player but will recieve far far less media attention.

Swallow certainly appears to have enormous potential. But Watson has already improved exponentially, and there's no guarantees Swallow will do so.

Whatever though. The guy's clearly a gun, one of my favs, I've been pumping his tyres for ages
This is true :thumbsu: I remember your praise of the shit brother after last years North v Don's game LU :p Jobe tore us apart in that game :(

I stated in my post that stats can be misleading. The raw stats I found show that Watson was well ahead at the same age and I don't really think that was the case. I simply produced them to refute the claim that Swallow was comfortably ahead.
BTW aspects like clearances, first possessions, hardball gets, contested possessions are Watsons bread and butter..... although probably Swallows as well.
