Agree. What i meant was that if you cant call Watson A Grade, you cant call a Tiger A Grade. Watson is as good as any Tiger player. Agree Reiwoldt and Deledio are the two equals of Watson. All A Grade IMO (with about 50 other players)
Then we have elite...Buddy, Hodge, Ablett, Judd, Pav etc.
Deledio would be ahead of Watson.
Watson would obviously be way ahead of Tuck.

Who exactly came up with these "Elite, A, B & C" grade ratings that everybody uses? Fox Sports??

watson has never come close to the afl's elite in terms of clearances or contested possessions, his inside work is astoundingly overrated
Care to back that up with proof?

At one stage last year he was leading contested possessions and involvement in goals scored. Don't think he ended up winning those categories but would have been waaaay up there.

Watson. He is slightly better at most things. Football smarts, leadership and ability to carry a midfield, decision making, even that extra bit of polish with disposal.

:D Agreed. Everybody has different meanings of what they are. Personally I think of A grade as a player such as Judd, Black, Ablett etc but there's people on here calling Jack Riewoldt A grade after one good season.

The Semantic Defenders of the Faith, that's who. God help you if you invoke the sacred Champion term for anyone other than half a dozen players

I would say Deledio is as good, if not slightly better than Watson. Jack Riewoldt is about on par with Watson. Both of those guys aren't elite, but definitley A grade material.

Deledio is slightly better then Watson? I'm embarrassed for you. Watson is a good player no doubt, but Deledio is an Elite kick. Something Watson struggles with.

I think there are only 6 or 7 midfielders in the league that would be better at carrying Essendon the way Jobe does. Those players are
Judd, Ablett, Swan, Pendelbury, Hodge, Hayes and Cooney when he is up and running.

This is not me saying that I think he is the 8th best midfielder far from it. Players like Didak who is clearly a better and more talented midfielder than Jobe would not be single handedly make our midfield competitive like Watson does for us.

That's why Watson is "overated" by essendon supporters.
