My god he has been a helluva player. 300 games, where did that go. Wonderful milestone.
Still playing great football. Get it done Geelong.

Same type thing... I remember a game at SCG v Swans.... we were down.... he just went into SuperSelwood mode and blew the MF apart clearance after clearance and WOULD.NOT.BE.DENIED.THE.BALL.Can remember a game against Freo on ANZAC Day early in his career where we were getting pumped (were down by about 7 goals midway through the 2nd term) when a 19yo Selwood decided to pull the team onto his young shoulders and went into beast mode. In 15 minutes, we had gone from 7 goals down to 2 points down at the main break, and ended up winning by a point.
Just a competitive beast who puts his body on the line week in, week out. Absolute gun.

I remember a Hawthorn final that we lost and his first half was maybe the best individual performance I've ever seen.Same type thing... We won... on his back.

Is Selwood gifted at getting free kicks or do most other players choose not to emulate his technique?
Are Crips, Bont, Rowell, Fyfe and Neale etc incapable of making legal tackles become illegal like Selwood? Could they? Would they? Why don't they? * Congratulations to Selwood on 300 games this weekendwww.bigfooty.com

Great player.
Follows the same career path as Jonathan Brown.
Premierships and grand finals to begin his career only to spend a decade dreaming about it again.
Not much I can say that hasn't already been mentioned but Sel has always put the fires out..
I remember sitting on the couch watching that game and just in awe of him.Same type thing... I remember a game at SCG v Swans.... we were down.... he just went into SuperSelwood mode and blew the MF apart clearance after clearance and WOULD.NOT.BE.DENIED.THE.BALL.

The 2014 QF? He was insane in that game. Hard and desperate at the contest in a way no one on else on the field was. There were many performances of his that stand like that, win or lose, where he did a lot of desperate hard stuff to seemingly will the side over the line on his own back. That final has always remained prominent in my mind, however, because it really epitomized the problem we had at the time (and still do to some extent) of needing one individual to pull off a herculean effort to give us a shot. Also epitomized just how good Selwood was in that period, though, and how much drive he had to see Geelong succeed in finals.I remember a Hawthorn final that we lost and his first half was maybe the best individual performance I've ever seen.
Only reason we were in the game at all.
Carried the other 21 players all on his own.
