Was there anything that came about from this rumor?
I watched the replay from Monday's game and Selwood was spending a great deal of time in the forward line. More so than usual. Perhaps it was a tactical move as we have no classy small forwards or perhaps it is to manage whatever injury he may indeed be carrying?

He wasn't his normal self, that is for sure.

No wonder everyone, esp. the young guys, looked a bit leaderless and shell shocked, if Captain Courageous wasn't able to influence the game due to injury.

Definitely looked sore and didn't crash in like we have come to expect. It's a worry.

Definitely didn't play to the standard we expect, whether that's because of injury or just had a bad game, don't know. He is a superstar though so if he is down again this week then something is up.

I'll back him in for a big one.

He wasn't injured. Bashed and crashed as per his usual self... merely had a bad day like most of his other teammates.

Not sure if he is injured, but thought his game on Monday was unusual.

Watching him closely at the game he just looked spent. It seems he got bashed around early, which must have affected him, but he was constantly left on his own as the pack moved to the next contest. He was just walking around and at one point in the last quarter, I noticed he didn't even follow the ball to the next contest. Randomly he was just standing on his own on the wing.

Maybe he was feeling lonely, maybe he was spaced out, maybe he was just like F it... who knows. But it was odd to say the least.

There was talk of a off-season injury, but most of the team were off their games. I don't think we can value his effort on one game.

I expect him to contribute more this week and bounce back to his best.

I'm not surprised. I've watched enough games to realise there was little effort out there on Monday... We gave up the ghost, and that's a rarity for this club. The buck stops with the coach, but that's what happens when he continually keeps unwarranted players in the side.

It's not fitness either. I personally know 2 blokes involved in the process and they are exceptional.

It laziness and unwillingness in the team aspect.

We have one too many individuals worried about personal exploits.

The next month will tell a new story now that Motlop has been dropped... Wake up call for a few players?

Agree with Seeds on this one. He sees the game differently to other players, but this by no means he plays for himself.

Most of Johnson's possessions end up bringing others into the game, and when he is being 'selfish', it is normally for good reason.

Agreed. Jonno is not what I would call selfish. He is team orientated as well - looking to bring others into it.

He is flashy and mercurial, but not selfish. No one should conflate the two.
