Joey Ramone from legendary pop-punk-rockers the Ramones died today from cancer aged 49.

Years ago, I was on the train on the way home when I saw a guy who looked exactly like Joey Ramone sitting out the back of Festival hall. As The Ramones were playing there that night I got of the train at North Melbourne and went and said hello. He was a nice guy and we talked for about half an hour or so.

I saw the band live a few years back & thought they were wickedly entertaining.

So many of their songs are so funny, I hope they were meant to be because I just couldn't take them seriously if I tried. Psycho Therapy, I Wanna Be Sedated or Rock N Roll High School always make me smile and bop around when I hear them.

Agreed. RIP legend. Those guys were great live, had great humour, never had atop 40 hit and were decent human beings - a great rock'n'roll quadrella in my opinion...
