Whatever happens he wouldn't make it back to Victoria through the drafts so Port would be in a very strong trading position.

I reckon we should offer up Chris Judd + Marc Murphy + Bryce Gibbs + First Rounder would that be enough? maybe Jamison if that's not enough.

Gibbs will never be traded unless the club has no other choice would destroy team harmony. Butcher is not worth Gibbs.

Look at what Dale Thomas has been able to do, go from a soft forward pocket who would try to roll goals home from 40 out to a pretty good player.

You do realise that it is up to Port when they delist him, up until the final cut-off for the Pre-Season Draft, right!!!!!

Asgardian I am pretty sure they changed that rule mate. Nevertheless young kids who have been well looked after never say trade me for a bag of chips or I'm going into the draft and even if he went into the draft there is no way he would fall to Carlton.

They did. Asgardian is wrong.

The days of clubs hanging onto players and not releasing them until the PSD (eg Camporeale's move from Carlton -> Essendon) are now history. Players who come out of contract are now able to nominate for either or both the ND & PSD (eg Ball's move from St Kilda to Collingwood.

FWIW, I would be very surprised if Butcher doesn't re-sign with Port - but if he chooses to leave (and Port refuse to trade him) then he does have the option of nominating for the ND where Port has no advantage over any other club.

Gibbs isn't Dale Thomas mate lol, let's get that straight right now, butcher will go top 3 if he enters the nd, where do you think Gibbs would go if he did? If you think his value has somehow increased you're deluded.

Just what do you think a player of butchers promise will cost you? I'm telling you now, try offering a player outside your top ten and pick 19 and they will laugh at you, I brought Gibbs up because he's a sa boy and I player I feel you won't miss terribly.

Doubt it, they paid pick 8 for him and have put 2 years of development into him, so basicly the club that gets him will have a ready made semi KF for the next year or 2 and then a geniune KF after that, worth way more than pick 8 now.

I said pick 10 to 16 in 2013, i stand by that, he'll be 28, we paid picks 14 and 44 for the second best ruckman in the comp who also happened to be 28.

Im not sure how you defence is but Patful can play on talls if Carlile Leaves.

O'Brien can Play HFF, HBF of midfield and I think both could come straight into your 22. But the again I don't know your team all that well.
