Port Adelaide
Who will win it in 2003.

They'll join Tredders, Monty, Meady, Kingers and the Pax as our B&F.

My tip would still be Francou on the back of his 2nd place in the Brownlow.

My tips in order

Darryl Wakelin
Chad Cornes
Josh Carr
Brett Montgomery
Damien Hardwick

This is all going on the theory that votes are given for jobs done, as opposed to just individual excellence regardless of opponent.

Remember that the Best and Fairest is based on a player's expected performance. Darryl Wakelin played 18 and a half full games in the minor round and was only beaten twice, Melbourne both times and the first time he was not beaten comprehensively. Compare that with the big two, Primus and Francou who played some match-winning games but also some under par games.
As Primus went missing less often than Francou and Wakelin went missing only twice but missed 5 games, I'd give it as a toss-up between Primus and Wakelin.

Primus.. the poll isnt working for me.

I had trouble before but it seems to be fine now, don't know what the problem was. Recently it seems i have to go to "view poll" to see the results although again now it is just coming up with the thread.

No votes for James. He should have tagged Balck out of round 22 and let Josh get the medal. I am tempted to say Bishop because of his development this year, and his improvement in concentration, application, disposal, communication with other backmen. Obviously has listened to his coaches and put in some hard yards. Or is this totally off beam?

That's a good point. The John Cahill medal is awarded to the player who does his role to the fullest. And that could very well be a player like Bishop.

Tough call this years John Cahill Medal. It will be between Wakelin, Primus, and Tredrea. I chose Wakelin as I thought he played his position best this year, But Primus's leadership was exceptional in many games. Tredders would have been a shoe in if he nailed more goals from 30m out, but he still had a good year. Francou doesnt seem to poll well in the JCM, it will be interesting to see how he goes.

I think Montgomery will be up there for it as he didn't have many bad games and usually was in the top 5 or 6 players. Wakelin would have been a shoe in if he hadn't been injured, Primus will also be up there.

My vote definately goes to Matty Primus, he has had a fantastic season, and has given our players first use to the ball, as well as being his leadership self, coming down the forward line as a marking forward and kicking those odd goals, except for the last couple of games he died down a little, but that was to be expected especially since he had a niggling injury.

Anyone for stewey dew??? oh well i can dream :)

B&F or not, he'll get his name on the honor board for leading goalkicker at least :)

Tredrea should go very close to it again as he was quite consistent throughout the year. (H-A that is.)

Of the players not in poll Kingsley will also go quite well, but not enough to be in contention.

I just heard about the new category - player of the finals.
I would suggest Chad Cornes finals against Collingwood and Essendon should win it for him. Although Matthew Primus should push him.
Hadn't heard about this.
In this case Chad Cornes first, daylight second, and perhaps Kane Cornes third.

10 rounds so far. Wakelin on 63 leading by 2 votes from Monty and P.Burgoyne. Rob Kelvin said there was something of a surprise. Certainly not that Wakelin was leading or Monty coming second; maybe P.Burgoyne was a bit of a surprise. But Primus on 44 votes is a surprise. Francou was 5th but he never seems to do well so I'm not astonished there. Most improved wasn't a real breakthrough player as most of us thought it would be, it was Chad Cornes after a year that took him from a good player to an excellent player.

Just so you know, I would love and appreciate all updates
