There Longmire goes again, shutting Aliir out of the senior team because he doesn’t like players with flair.
I took the Longmire comment as a positive for AA - let's get some reserves game time in him, and possibly comes in the time in the following week.

Aliir Aliir’s progress
“He’s coming along well. Last week was his second game in about nine weeks, so it was good to get another game under his belt. He played that forward-ruck role for us in the reserves. His second half was certainly pretty solid. So we’d like to give him a look at that space in our senior team and at some stage pretty shortly. We think he can contribute in that area.”

So coming into the forward line. Looking forward to seeing AA on youtube on Friday afternoon :)

For John to single you out and say that your play was 'pretty solid' is high praise indeed! He is much more comfortable praising the team than the individual. I think we will definitely see AA back soon provided there are no more injuries.

Another scrappy defensive game plan bravo horse for letting shit sides compete against us

Kangas completely dominated Hawks to half time. They then won with two players concussed for majority of 2nd half. You can't be a poor side and manage that against Hawks (a team with a coach you can't deny you have admired over the past few years).

Here we go. Last time I watched this match, Longmire wasn’t playing in it. FFS, that was a pathetic game of football carried out by a bunch of professionals who for some unknown ****ing reason, couldn’t hit the side of a barn! That was on field pathetic so give the donk a break!

Yawn

Players fault when we lose

Let me know what he is responsible for or when his credits run out

We should disband the coaches box completely and reinvest that money elsewhere , could extend the scg perhaps

As coaches have no impact on poor play, good play or tactics

Buddy to captain coach

Just read the whle thread and you seem to be the loudest critic but you havent really said much on how to fix the issues. in your view what do you think John and the rest of assistants should do? And please dont repeat what you heard on fox footy, I like to know what you personally feel he should do.

and also who can we bring to fix the things you think is wrong with his coaching.

- Play two KPD's no matter what
- Have at least 1 tall forward
- Move the ball a lot quicker out of defence

I mean it sounds simple but I really think a more attacking mindset would help. I obviously don't know the exact stats but I am willing to bet the Swans have a very low play on from mark figure compared to most other clubs. We are so stagnant moving forward and it gives the opposition as much time as they like to setup their defensive structures.

Pretty hard to do when our talls are injured and we havent got depth to play those roles. And the games i have watched AliirAliir played he has looked lost.

And defensivly a coach will just plonk a defensive forward on him all game to restrict him..and then we give up a defender because AliirAliir is a 2 dimensional player.

Aliir looked really good in 2016, he did not look lost at all.

Well you make do with what you have..ok no tall depth with experience...so what can you do ?

A) nothing...play a bunch of short people and get exposed by height last night with brown and mason "carey" wood

B) play aliir back who has played well there in the past, play grundy up forward. Its not ideal but it would at least provide some sort of structure and force the north talls to at least be accountable.

No sane person with any idea what theyre doing would pick option a? Oh yea our coach would

a) No real tall depth at all. The coaches study the players they have to work with all week, they watch games from the NEAFL. who do you suggest from our depth from the NEAFL who should replace our back 6 considering we have injuries. Expose players who are not up to it and get thrashed by 10 goals..and then what?

b) AliirAliir last good season was 2016 where he looked good attacking but was exposed a few times one out. Only a stupid opposition coach would not stick a defensive forward in him and make him more accountable. I am sorry i do not see AliirAliir as the saviour the games he has played in the last 2 season in the NEAFL against quality forwards he was crap.

and how has our gameplan changed since 2016? I don't think it has, not one bit. That is the problem, Longmire's refusal to change.

If you havent seen the tweaks you dont really go to games and just rely on what the cameras on tv show you. Its a limited way to watch aussie rules IMHO.
