Great job Swans. Sad to lose Roosy at the end of 2010 (I'll save the eulogies until then), but considering he was going anyway it's great to see them preserve continuity.

Hard to say no to a job you haven't been offered;)

Quite happy for Longmire to stay in Sydney to be honest, was shuddering at the thought of having him as coach.

Surely he couldn't have been as bad for North as that other awful Roos' protege Ross Lyons has turned out to be?

I think he will be a good coach if he has the cattle. I had no problem with us going for him, we just never got to the stage of offering him the job.

Absolutely devastated that I'll be over seas next year and so won't be there for Roos' last game as coach. I guess I'll be treating Round 22 as his last game, so will be very emotional for me with also the send off for MOL, Crouch and Barry.

Talk about a hospital pass. The horse will have his work cut out for him.

... you joking? Roos will continue to develop our young stars next year so that when Horse takes over we'll be set to challenge for another flag.

Must say, we seem to like the animals... Riewoldt looking for a Coaching Assistancy?

Cool.

By all accounts he's got the makings of an excellent senior coach. Nice to see him stick by us.

Im not saying your right or wrong mate, but honestly why do you say that?

I know why he said that Bez, he doesn't want another one of their former club champs coaching careers killed off to soon. What a thoughful chap.

Not really, as long as the Swans don't expect miracles from the Horse. If they drop out of contention for a couple of years, he should be safe, he should be given the time to build his own list.

Some people at Arden St have long memories. There were some concerns about the Horse's temperament under adverse circumstances dating back to the mid 90s. Maybe he's matured. Good luck to him, he's deserved that job, having stuck fat for so long.

but I want miracles and we already have a budding list founded by Roosy, I dont want a coach just goin through the motions, I want insparation, I want a coach that makes his players run through brick walls, make them play above their own beliefs etc, a coach that the players will bleed for just like Roosy,.. is this Longmire is what Im asking you north supporters that know him better than me?

I see the opposite, we stuck fat not him..

The best of luck to Longmire, I reckon he'll do well.:thumbsu:
I hope the rumour that Roos will be the coach for the Western Sydney franchise is wrong though...all seems a bit contrived and incestuous.
