On the subject of vents,
I'm ****ing sick of the Swans culture. You go to the footy and get shunned for yelling at the game, the odd clap is acceptable. The facebook page is testament to the Swans 'un-diehard' like culture with lame status updates like; "There is something wonderfully Australian about the Qantas youth choir singing I still call Australia home. Gives me shivers." The amount of times I hear Swans 'fans' at the game say uneducated comments like; "Is that one Adam Goodes or is that Lewis Jetta?"
I'm not going to lie, if i was a professional AFL player, I wouldn't want to play for the Swans. Look at clubs like Collingwood and Essendon where spectators follow your progress with such passion and intent.

Anyone else feel my pain?
The trick is to NOT sit in a box. ;)

Nah but seriously, I've never had this problem, always scream and yell, as do those around me.

Do you guys seriously believe that the ideological shift between Longmire and Roos would be that great, considering how long they worked together?
While you're here, I see you've made your annual "Sydney are going to drop out of the 8 for a number of years" prediction. What are you basing that on this time?

I'd suggest moving seats. I haven't had that sort of problem for years. Funny you mentioned Essendon in that rant though. The last time I was in Melbourne there was an "issue" where an Essondon family tried to tell the people in front to tone it down. And all the offenders had down was leap up when a goal was kicked. There are ********s everywhere.

As for the uneducated comments - we have 9 seats but some of them are for kids who can't always make it so we're always bringing friends along - often to their first live game.

My advice: stop the cultural cringing. No offence, but I find the people who bag the sydney crowd to be painful myself. ;)

problems seem similair to last year when Roos was incharge - unable to play 4 quarters, while being unable to maintain a foward structure. The amount of times it's bombed into the foward line with noone there or 1 against 3 is frustrating. Also the fowards always seem to be in the wrong position when the ball is quickly kicked in from a pack, behind when they should be infront and vice versa.

Both Roos and Longmire were obviously around in 05-06 when our foward structure was the best in the league filled with fowards who could actually put it through the goals why now is the foward structure non existant and all the players in there (except McGlynn) unable to put it through the big sticks.

We have lost 2 games I feel we could have came with. Both were
played in the wet and we played dry day footy and selected a team for
dry day footy. Jetta was was never a chance to play his usual game and
seemed to lope along chasing in both games.
We bombed the ball into the forward line, where the chances of over-head/congested marking was negated by the conditions.

The old fashioned way of playing in front and chest marking is the way to
play the wet. Keep the ball moving, even if it is a soccer type kick and
keep chasing the ball.

Both Geelong and Carlton out - played us in the wet.

Judd came into the game once Jack was injured and if I recall correctly
came back to him when he was patched up.

**** off, keep your opinion to yourself.

/The OBSTacle whenever a non North poster posts on the North board.

Give Longmire time it's only 6 rounds into his career. Numerous Swans posters wanted Roos sacked half way through last year, just let it unfold.

aaaaah how is that status update at all relevant? Hell, I agree with it.

The uneducated vibe at SCG is simply that, uneducated. What does that mean? We are bringing band new fans/blood to our game and we are no longer relying on ex Vics to fill the stadium.

You can't expect our fans (on an average) to be as developed and educated on the game as Victorian clubs who have been around for over a century, it shows the Swans are doing a fantastic job at growing the game. I’d rather hear questions like that coming from the stands than have empty stands.

In saying that though, we have more then our fair share of loud drunken die hards - relax yourself.

Luke.

A very plausable post Coptic, your theory most certainly has merit for mine.

I hear your pain, and I recommend you check yourself in to the psych ward at RPA immediately.

Why does it anger you that someone doesn't know which one is Adam Goodes? it just means they are new to the game. Thats a good thing.

Yo, grimlock, stop with the vindictive liking! That's the last time I express an opinion about the future. From now on, I'm sticking to arguments about BoG in 30 year old grand finals.

The good thing about this thread is that the replies made my OP looks tame in comparison.

I still think they were reasonable criticisms!

I still maintain John Longmire has an alarming lack of personality. Most premiership coaches are total moos with healthy egos, while Longmire just seems like a conveyancing solicitor.
