Yeah, the advertiser had Meeson in their top 5 AFLers in the SANFL section... definetely a good sign, i just wish hed appear more often, and would demonstate by doing so that he is ready for AFL football.

Note though- my comments which youve boldened never challenged that Meeson may have played a good game... they were directed more at Drummonds hidden motive... the kill Clarke campaign, which he freely admits to.

And surely 'champion' is over the top aswell. If he was a champion, wouldnt he have kicked 8 and had 30 touches instead of 19 ? Top class effort, but hardly a champion.

Think we owe Drummond an apology based on his match review comments on Meesen - turned out to be spot on

I for one agree that Meesen has been excellent for most of the season and is getting better and better....starting the season as backup ruckman and now firmly #1 ruckman and an important one at that.

He will be a premier ruckman!

But unfortunately the caped crusader has crashed into a brick wall with his selective quoting, by only quoting the light-hearted comment without smilies as if it were criticism, and ignoring the genuine comment which followed:

Seriously Drummond, if you want to support Meesen, even with a bit of exaggeration, that's okay in my book. Nothing wrong with enthusiasm.

Where you do go astray though IMO, is that you constantly talk about Clarke as if he has NFI about playing footy, whereas the rest of the footy world will say that Clarke is one of the best tap ruckmen going around and has been for many years. We got smashed in ruck by St Kilda on Friday without him against a very weak ruck set-up. This is probably his last year and if we are to win a flag, Clarke will play a vital part in that.

So by all means keep up the support for the Meese, but just take a more balanced view on Clarke.

I agree there has been a bit of an anti Clarke campaign....IMO Clarke was going to retire last year and is effectively helping the club during the transition period to Maric, Meesen and co.

In addition he is helping coach the lads....does he therefore deserve to be criticised...again IMO not sure what people expect from a game weary 32 year old but he's doing an OK job and still ranks better than any current option available to us.

You have very similiar views to me on this topic.
