some sort of content agreement similar to croc media on overnights? Singo trying to poach Neil Mitchell for mornings and has secured Steve Price for another shift. Not sure if SEN still do footy on weekends?
 
Forget weekends, not sure if SEN will exist soon enough....

Hope not. I like the concept of SEN but I do hope they have a change in talent and format. They are far too AFL eccentric. They need to hire talent that can speak confidently on all sports not just AFL and they need to realise that AFL is not the be-all and end-all of this town.

For example why would you choose not to broadcast (despite holding the radio media rights) the A-league grand Final featuring Melbourne Victory and instead broadcast AFL preseason game instead.

Yes thats correct.

SEN I believe forfeited the rights.

The idea of a 24/7 station does work as many have already stated, but IMO the station has become outdated.

The morning glory program has become very mundane and boring. Andy Maher is the main problem although Tim Watson isn't great either. Biggest issue with these guys are there lack of personality and there limited knowledge on other sports. Simon O'Donnell would be perfect. Played Cricket, Footy and is big into horses and isn't as boring as Watson and Maher.

They need to almost break it up more. Personally, I think the station would work better on FM where you could play music along with it. Would help the station flow.
 
There is no doubt SEN could be better, but the mere fact they are currently outrating an experienced competitor like MMM in the breakfast slot confirms they are doing a few things right. Personally, I am willing to put up with the long ad breaks, if it means having an all sports radio station. Victorians don't realise how lucky they are - interstaters would love to have the same radio coverage of sports.

Those morning ratings say more about how MMM has gone to the dogs, to be honest. SEN hasn't risen, it's MMM which has plummeted.
 
a lot of people with no idea about anything posting rubbish here.

I used to work at SEN in the bad old days and still have plenty of friends there and the place is going gang busters now. First time they returned a real profit so idiots saying they are going out of business is just BS.

If the macquaire thing happens it will mean even more money flowing in. SEN wont change at all but 3mp will change to take on AW. Mitchell turned down 1 million from the new guys so money isn't a problem.

Some of the suggestions people make about how to improve SEN would see them go out of business. The Station overrall is getting better ratings then triple m, mix fm, vega, JJJ and plenty of others so they're pretty happy with how things are going. They make alot more from advertising then some other stations with bigger ratings cause SEN has the type of listners advertisers like to get hold of.

Opinions are like arseholes we all have one but so many people with no idea say things like they are fact.

It seems as though you haven't a nice word to say about the people who want it to become something better. I don't listen because it is not as good as it could be. I don't know nutting so I don't eat peanuts. That says it all for the time being. They might try hard but could do better as my grade six teacher said to me once.

It is a good concept but could be broadened to compete a lot better. What has happened is only of your own making. Not enough good ideas about where it is going. Have some balls and get some sticks and you will fire up soon.

It's the opinions of "arseholes" who predict your future in any case.

Another peanut soccer supporter who does`nt understand what really rates here in Victoria.
Salsa68 has had the guts to state the truth.
Leedawsoms views don`t rate amongst SEN listeners or management obviously.

We all have our own personal opinions on SEN formats and presenters. I support the station but just get fed-up with the number of ad breaks they have. Some ad breaks particularly on KB's show last over 5 mins. I've stated before that presenters are actually on-air for about 28 mins of every hour. For a sports station I wonder why the need to have extended (3AW) news every half hour up till 9am.

Personally, I think there is too much sports central and quasi ads such as Sandy Roberts talking about 7 news tonight. Also, some interesting interviews and topics are cut short because of the need for an ad break. I wish they could just balance it out more.

For me, I would like the station more if presenters had longer air time and the station did its own condensed news service. At the moment, everything STOPS for news and ads. News on the hour lasts 8 mins before they go back the the presenter.
I know they have to make money but it's such a rigid format it would be good to be a tad more flexible.

Bye the Bye the shows that I like most at the moment are the Saturday and Sunday morning shows at 9am with Pickers, Schwass, Hutchy, Dr Turf, Hartford etc. It can be very entertaining
