Here's something I prepared earlier (from our Travis Varcoe thread) about this AFL Site garbage:
- Defining "big game" by attendance figures or, lord luv us, a "Derby" or a "Showdown", is illogical drivel (for a start, it means no games at KP are counted), and
- claiming that Champion Data's own manufactured "pressure acts" are "more advanced measurements" than "kicks, handballs, tackles and goals" is utterly moronic.
Simply completely meaningless, a disgrace to a purportedly serious football site.
Yeah a bit of intellectual masturbation to make their own particular favourites look better.
You want to define big games v small games? Easy. Here's how - home and away versus finals. Pretty simple.

I think Swans have been foxing a bit. Tippet could prove disastrous and kick 6. I think Hannebery is a good in.

They are. They're still prone to not showing up - like they did against North recently. They blew their game against Carlton the other week after looking great early too. But if they turn up and play well, they'll be too good for Carlton. And a very annoying opponent for whoever would face them the week after.

Why am I under the impression that this will happen? Partridge

Basically I feel between Freo, Hawthorn and Geelong the winner could be either of the 3. Just depends who plays who in the prelims or Grand Final
Prelims I'd have
Geel > Hawks
Freo > Geel
Hawks > Freo
but in the Grand Final I'd have
Hawks > Geel
Geel > Freo
Freo > Hawks
Great. Thanks for that. I was trying to find a similar diagram to see who is on what side of it.
I would be really, really amazed if Fremantle were Premiers. They have to beat Hawthorn AND Geelong to achieve that. They've played each once this year, and haven't gotten within 40 points of either. They've also only played Sydney once, and could only draw. You can only play who is put in front of you, but they haven't had a tough draw this year by any stretch. They're putting the crap sides away like you should, but we really won't know how good they are until Saturday.
