Carey will agree to go to which ever club North decides to send him to, if say Adelaide and Essendon offer North the same amount he will go to Adelaide. If Essendon offer more he will go to Essendon.

Players do not decide where they play.

You know Zombie, sometimes I think your sledging is just tongue-in-cheek ... I think it may be more d*ck-in-hand.

You're forgetting (like most people) that one of the key reasons why Carey can go wherever he wants is that North owes him a sh*tload of money. If he goes to the club of his choice, suddenly that money isn't an issue. If he doesn't go to the club of his choice, he'll want his cash.

Sorry but did someone say Toby Thurstans.........Dean Brogan........better than Aaron Fiora......oh my:eek:
Yeah. Fiora is still very, very fringe himself - if Richmond already had a good midfield, I dare say he'd have less games under his belt than Brogan does, and be on an even footing with Toby.

Um . . . when they are contracted YES THEY DO. Standard player contract dictates clubs cannot trade players without their permission. Carey is still contracted so he most definitely has a say. He has also signed a heads of agreement with the Crows, which prevents other clubs coming to any agreement until the trading period is over. So if he doesn't go to the Crows, he'll go
to the first club that wants him in the pre0season draft.

Spot on James - in fact, two trades the Crows were going to be involved in in previous years were scuppered because players did not want to go to the clubs they were being offered to.

"No" to Richmond Hacks!

Sorry, am I missing something here? Why the hell do we want Torney, and/or Fiora!?!?

So what if they're from SA, they're both fringe players in one of the worst teams in the league! It's time for the Crows to put their foot down- quality player/s for quality player.

Also, I hope the Crows don't use Johnson in the Carey deal. Why use the best trade bait in recent off-seasons simply to put an already very likely deal beyond doubt? The Crows were already extremely confident of getting Carey before Johnson requested to return to Victoria, why should that change their original plans?

Johnson is not worth pick #4, he would be worth more of a #10 #15 sort of pick.

One way to judge a player's worth would be to look at history.

Port Adelaide gave up pick #4 for Darryl Wakelin a few years back. Collingwood ended getting that pick from thw Saints and drafted Alan Didak with it.

For a team like Richmond who lack a quality midfielder or two, Kane Johnson would be worth as much to them, maybe even more, than Wakelin was to Port at that time.

Admittedly I think Port gave up too much for Wakelin and I am sure they could've got Wakelin for less, but Johnson could easily be worth a top 5 pick depending on the club.
