Melbourne copped a lot of flak taking Johnstone at no.1 in the draft before Ottens, Croad and others. Obviously on 2002 form it seems a wise choice.

If you could have one of these players for next year, who would it be?

Had to dissapoint you Dees Fans but it appears as if Johnstone is heading down to Carlton.
BTW Ottens is the most overrated player in the AFL .

Don't reply to threads with crap like that Sabre. We weren't even talking about beer gut boy until you decide to bring him into it.

And anyway, Johnstone is a better player.

1.To give you some idea of how much I rate him
2.Both are midfielders taken very high in the draft and there careers should be compared/

1. - No-one cares and

2. - Make your own thread for that, and stick to what the thread is about in here. Croad, Ottens and Johnstone. No Haselby.

I'd prefer Yze over Haselby and he was taken lower in the draft....
And I'd also take Johnstone over Haselby...

Also everyone already knows you over-rate every Freo player.

This thread had nothing to do with Haselby Sabre, I don't see the point of bringing him up.

I think we all now have some idea on how much you rate Hasleby :rolleyes: ............. and Parker .............and McPharlin ..........and Pavlich...........:rolleyes: They're the best 4 players in the comp. ;)

The reason for the Johnstone comparison with Croad and Ottens are that the Dees were widely criticised for taking him ahead of Croad and Ottens in that particular draft, not Haselby's draft.

I would, if having the choice from that draft for next season, take Johnstone.


and just for you Sabre I would also take Haselby over Fraser ;)

Id take Ottens but wouldnt be to upset if I was forced to take Johnstone. Simply because a marking forward is harder to find than a good mid-fielder. But I dont think Ottens will ever be a great ruck, good not great. Great forward (imo) is where I could see him dominating in future.

Wouldnt want Haselby btw.... over-rated. :p

No King Crow you can't do that, if you are playing Sabre's game you have to take a player from your team who isn't as good as the player in discussion and say that they are better, you can't use a player that is actually better.

Michael Stevens is better than Travis Johnstone

You call it bias, on the normal board it is how it is.

You say Cousins is better than Buckley and Haselby is better than McLeod but out in the real boards you get laughed out of town.

But you sit there with your mate Sabre tugging each other if it makes you feel better he'll agree with you that Medhurst is a better player than Riewoldt.

If only every team had all these great players that Freo do they could be as good as Freo aswell :rolleyes:
