If I were Matthews I'd be taking the 'Governor" off him and tell him he can go anywhere he likes on the field. At the moment he is our only reliable over-head option.

Governor sounds good to me Olmy.

Whatever you do don't call him Johnny to his face, cause he seriously hates it.

You guys can call Browny whatever you want, but to us he's still the Stud Muffin or Muffin for short.

Hehehehe love ya Muffin.

And it's nice to see that his cousin Marcus William has a few fans on here.

Hi Pickos_Gal, how are you?

cheers...

Good to see a nice Topic to talk about on Big Footy...

As much as I love the "governor" idea....I really can't see how it would catch on.

Believe me, it's started catching on already. All you have to do, is yell it out (preferably when he's playing GOOD), and people pick up on it.

I guess the footy culture in Melbourne tends to promote these types of things a bit though.

But make sure all you guys start calling him "The Guv", or "The Governor".

The best time to do it, is when he's about to take a mark, and you yell out "It's the Governor, Johny Brown". And when he kicks the goal, you yell out "Well done Guv".

See! It's catching on already!!

It doesn't matter if people look at you - after a while they'll work it out (it might take a bit longer in QLD - I don't know).

It's easy to yell out though.

Another one, is the "miracle goal". At one point, and one point only in the game, are you allowed to yell out "miracle goal", to pre-empt just that, a miracle goal. You have to yell it out, at some point, when one of your players has the ball in the forward line, but could only kick a goal under exceptional circumstances. Obviously you have to yell it out before the ball is kicked, and it has to be when a goal is unlikely, but still possible (by miracle).

If he misses, and you get it wrong, tough luck. If he kicks it, and you're right, you're a HERO (perhaps even to a greater extent than the player who kicked the goal!).

I got Lynch, the other week, with his miracle goal. The one where he wheeled around, at full pace, and kicked it around his body for a goal, early in the first quarter. That was great!
