How can you test two different things using the one benchmark? Females are slower and weaker physically than males. Fact, not sexist. Do you make it very easy for males to join or very hard for females? or do you have two separate benchmarks making it equally fair on both parties?

As for the case of the runaway offender, what if a physically fit male can't catch him? Would you be happier that the male tried and failed or still just as angry because the result was the same?

Use the same criteria for both. This equal opportunity bullshit is ridiculous. Fact is, there are some jobs that are better suited to men, just as there are some jobs women are better suited for. Policing is better suited to males.

Bottom line is, you shouldnt ever **** with public safety, and certianly not for reasons like that.

Interesting watching that recruits program. I've been looking at joining the Police Force as a backup option for Uni, and watching that it doesn't seem that hard considering some of the applicants that got in.

Apparently in NSW you have to achieve a level 5 result in the beep test to become a policeman. How pissweak is that? I reckon some blokes could do it backwards.

5. Have to work with a lot of knob-ends. The police force attracts sociopaths.

I know in W.A. one of the requirements is to be able to get 10.0 in the beep test, and after that you dont have to keep in any sort of shape, they changed it to encourage more people to join (Few good fit police officers<<<Staff full of lazy policeman) Thanks Karl!
