JON officially gone

Thanks Miller!!

Mitch Clark - AA Ruckman. Probably not even his best position.

Very disappointing. Miles bigger error than Fiora or Tambling

You would imagine that the Club had puts the feelers out to see if any club was interested in a trade, but alas no interest in JON, don't blame them.
You would think that the same applied to Brown and Cogs and the club felt they would retire or at best get a shot through the PSD.

I'm sure the guys down at Punt road are desperately trying to find a new home for Schultz McMahon and Hughes at the minute.

As the interest dries up in players the delistings will emerge.

I think Pettifer might be the next in the gun, followed by Polak.
I don't really know Polak's improvement capabilities on the field so it is hard to call as a supporter but judging by his last game, he looks below the pace of the game.
If Polak retires the Club should offer him a role down at the Club.

EXACTLY as I have been saying all along ... no one else would be interested!!!
Not his fault for being picked by us, but a shocking footballer who was given one or two years in the system longer than he should have.
Farewell .. and may the culling continue.

Miller was like George Constanza with those glasses.

He would mistake the obvious and yet was able to spot a coin from yards away.

The Carey-Longmire from the wildnerness magic just doesnt seem to work when you have a year to assess a list of the best players in Australia plonked right infront of you.

to be honest im a bit dissapointed JON is gone. would have liked to see him played at half back, as that was where he played pre AFL. however we never gave him gig there. he will be a jet at another club, good luck to him.

I nearly spat my coffee all over the computer screen the day you picked JON over Mitch Clarke. Turns out the initial reaction was the right one. Forget sacking JON how about the boob who made this decision?

Sacked him a while ago.

It's our shithouse player development that ruins these careers. Cleve Hughes has bags of talent. JON supposedly was an All Australian although from what I saw he wasn't even VFL standard.

WTF do we do so wrong? Even if they aren't GREAT players why can't we even turn them into decent contributors and play them to their strengths ALA Collingwood? It baffles me year in year at how this culture just spreads like a disease.

Their are players, who should go before JON, so why was he singled out and delisted so quickly 3 days after the final game? His decision making is his main flaw, but he has the hardness and courage that Hardwick is obviously demanding. At 21 going on 22 and a top 10 pick im staggered we would be discarded so early. I just hope the plan is to rookie him and make him work harder for his last chance

Cmon guys JON is a terrible footballer, and he is extremely unco, all you blokes got your wish and so did i, now put a sock in it and move on:cool:

So you only have Richo on the Veterans list now correct? Is Cousins eligible to be put onto the Veterans list?

Correct, I don't think we have anyone else eligible.

Nup you need to be at the one club for a certain number of years before you qualify for the veterans list I'm pretty sure.

10 years at the one club. Richo is the only one that qualifies on our list.

Back then I had no knowledge of the draft whatsoever. Having said that I just shuddered the first time I saw him. When I first saw him play I nearly vomited.

Anyway best of luck for the future JON. He would've made a nice bit of coin for a 21 year old.

we did at Coburg...so in summing it all up, he is the classic no 8 draft dud that we are all to well aware of. ;)

JON, I have said it many times is simply not a footballer. He was hard at the contest and it wasn't his fault our club was so inept we selected him over a bunch of players that have gone on to be successful footballers. Good luck to the kid.

The 2005 draft, wow what a complete disaster that was.

What are you talking about too early?
He has had plenty of time to shows something, but he has shown nothing and has been rightly shown the door:rolleyes:

You know KB said on his show the other week that because we had no money in our footy dept at the time, we picked him without Miller having seen him play live. The club were just told that he was a gun and that if we didn't pick him WC would so we got in first:eek:
