They don't get 'called out' because they are not public figures and there is no opportunity for high traffic on the articles. Anyone that sends unwanted pictures deserves to face the consequences (and many do). That is for males or females.

Now aside from the fact that I do feel sorry that Patton has been hospitalized for mental health reasons (I am not cynical enough to believe he is faking it) his behaviour is completely and utterly unacceptable, especially as an example to young impressionable boys/kids who look up to players like Patton.

And let's stop the victim shaming please. She should be applauded for speaking up.

Its a cliched argument but imagine if it was your sister or daughter etc who was sent lewd photos of their junk from some AFL Player. I would be extremely fuming.

Pretty sure the consequences for his actions were losing his very lucrative jobs with triple m and channel 9 plus losing his friendship with big Wilbur

He's on fox footy making plenty of money and a different radio station? If he cared about his friendship he wouldn't have done it

Besides the point anyway. My point was, he did wrong, got caught then claimed MH conveniently as a get out of jail card like so many before him, like Patton has and like so many will continue to do

we are all mostly speaking from personal introspection.. we are always speaking the news and mixture of news, media, and our own rough news..

it works from both sides and we have to always work from the worst to the least worst..

totally disappointing, totally probably unintentional.. ie people acting out basic human instincts..

but I am glad that the Hawks people are taking the strategy of being aware of both sides and all mental health awareness..

sad but want to be helpful in my attitude..

There’s a difference between him being in poor mental health at the moment and him having ongoing mental health issues, which is where the lines are getting blurred. I have no doubt he’s not in a good mental state right now.

He’ll still have to face consequences. Most likely his awesome career and some action in court.

Everybody has mental health issue, you have some, i have some, your cat has some. Patton is using mental health as a cover to escape media scrutiny which, this is probably at the advice of his manager. Mental health and scrutiny are not mutually exclusive but we should fully scrutinize his role in this sexual misconduct. Patton should be fully open for criticism and media exposure for his role in this saga. Of course, Patton the person should not be attacked but his role in all this should be fair game. He is highly paid professional sports person, key word is professional. He is paid money that's hundred time over what others make in a lifetime, hence he should be subjected to far higher standard.

Here's the thing, Patton didn't need to send it. If i am a school teacher and my students want to add me on FB, should i add them? In other words, i do have the choice to totally ignore the request right?

Patton absolutely had the right to NOT send the explicit photo....
 
Hasn't he denied it though?
Only a few options.
1) He didn't send them (see 3)
2) People are lying about getting them
3) Someone deepfaked him and is sending them as "him"
4) He sent them.

Now if it's 1, 2&3, he'd be being smashed by every man and his dog about what he's done, i can well see how his mental state could be badly affected.
If it was option 4, take what's coming to you.

I guess we'll find out more in the fullness of time.

There's plenty of people commenting in here that i'm convinced would be comfortable with the above scenario.

Patton's in the midst of enduring a fairly public humiliation, what's likely the end of his AFL career, both of which will have some very large long-term repercussions. In addition he may face some form of legal action given the high profile nature of what's going on.

So how far is too far for you?
 
Any half decent looking fella can rack up plenty of roots on Dating apps without resorting to sending pics of his snag.

Patton clearly has a mental issue but it is still frustrating that he can now hide behind the 'Mental Health' card.

I’m astounded the HUN had a new Patton article in its top 5 stories every morning for 4 days. None of them mentions the girl making the accusation flashes her own gear on only fans.
